Tomorrow my daughter and the grandkids are flying to New York on the 93 or 94 (forget which one it is) from MEL to LAX, then from there to JFK on another QF flight.

Who's done this recently?

How much time is there spent between getting through customs and then checking in for the next leg?

Thanks.

It is fairly smooth and QF allow sufficient time. But prepare for long customs lines, and painful bag recheck process. I normally get enough time to also go outside for 3 cigarettes between flights.

Thanks, Eddie. She was concerned about this. She has 3 kids in tow, all under 12. Anyway, she's halfway across the Pacific now, according to FR24.

Big job with 3 in tow, she’ll be fine. Lots of Aussies arriving on 3 different planes, from syd, bne, mel, and loads from each flight disembarking & heading for the connecting jfk flight gate. It is a super tiring journey, they will all hit their pillows hard at destination. Enjoy flight tracking them.

Thanks. Last time she only had two of them. The youngest (he's just turned 7) is on his first trip over there.

Just waiting for QF11 to depart for JFK.
