Qantas to release thousands of Classic Reward seats in Y, PE, J, F on 24 Feb 2023 around 11am

Has anyone else had this experience? I've been unable to login since getting dozens of error 500 notices yesterday during login. Had an hour on the phone with someone overseas this morning with no solution except to clear history etc. Tried on my computer, my wife's computer and my iphone. No success. Qantas promised to call me back later today. I'm not holding my breath.

I keep getting the message below.

I'm currently looking for SYD > DFW in mid-August and DFW > SYD in mid-August
These dropped 10 days ago, 2J seats and 4W on every day from mid July to end August. Snapped up the week before this promo and mentioned on multiple threads here.

I snagged SYD-LAX when they dropped 8 Feb, changed inbound leg to Syd-DFW on 17th after seeing mass availability mentioned here on AFF. From what i can see only extra Oct and Nov seats dropped yesterday on this route.

Thanks OATEK. Unfortunately, that hasn't worked. I suspect I've pressed too many buttons in frustration yesterday and somehow locked myself out.
LO and Behold! Just tried again and all is working perfectly. The lady must have contacted someone who could unlock it. Yay!!! Hope all the seats haven't gone :)

Sometimes when I get quirks like that, it's just easier to open up a different browser.
Yup did all that, including three different devices. But, someone in Qantas has now fixed it!

It’s pretty much a general issue. The only other suggestion is a different browser. I couldn’t get through on Safari and then managed on Chrome.
Unfortunately the seats I want are gone.

Question guys. For QF FF seats in business, what’s the booking code I should be looking for on expert flyer (to see availability)? Looking for business class. Would it be I or D?

but colour me unimpressed by this alleged massive dump of award seats.

Its been announced as a 'progressive release', not a massive dump. I do have one redemption in mind  but didn't bother with yesterday's entirely predictable sh!tshow and will use some award release search tools to grab it (maybe) when and if it pops up.

don't click on flight availability, click on awards and upgrades and then choose business- award and upgrade (U)
then if you want to do an alert, you click on the little box with a ! in it on the right side of the list of flights that comes up for the dates you want.

1) If the new fees and taxes is lower, then yes you can get a refund.

2) You will need to pay the 5,000 pt change fee regardless. It's the phone assistance fee you can waive off because it can't be done online. (Changes that are possible to do online are still charged the 5,000 point fee).

3) Depends on which call centre you get...
Thank you. I ended up just booking it myself after multiple phone calls and none of the agents could see the JAL availability. After booking I realised that it wasn’t ticketed (thank god for CMT!), called qantas and they said payment didn’t go through even though I have PNR number. Cathay advised if not ticketed in 2hrs then those reward seats will be gone. Agent advised going to charge me 7700 per person qantas points for assisted, I said that’s just ridiculous. Thanks qantas 🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️🤦🏻‍♀️ seriously … sometimes they are such a pain to deal with. I am now waiting for it to be ticketed. They promised to get back to me. I’ve also emailed rewardescalation email. Hopefully I get this ticketed then I can cancel my other booking, although I am being a bit cheeky and wondering if I should wait for them to do a scheduled flight change and I can cancel with no QFF deducted for cancellations. They’ve changed me twice on the original booking.

Then @kangarooflyer88 needs to look again.
I did, and as other noted there is SYD > DFW classic availability. However, if I search SYD > xx_ via DFW (where xx_ is a US city) it prices out at close to 100,000 points as a classic award. If I however, book the same flight as a multi-city, SYD > DFW > xx_ it prices out at the normal 55K points as a classic economy award. Seems like QF has difficulty calculating award pricing to certain US cities.

I gave up on AA award availability and am just going to buy my MSY side trip and NYC to LAX legs as a way to boost SCs for my new FF year.

Yes but would you trade your sanity to save a couple of bucks on a ticket? I would! 🤣

Are you using AA for the connecting flight? or do you end up on Alaska or WestJet? As that means you then end up using different award tables and pricing each leg separately. Seems unlikely this is the issue but thought I'd mention it anyway.

So back to normal now?

360,000 points one way economy for SIN-BNE. Don't quite have enough points for 3 seats. Can someone please lend me some points?

This joke just keeps giving.
