I noticed that a recent QF codeshare flight (AA metal) did not count towards the 500 SC, despite not being stipulated as not being counted if not on QF/JQ metal. Haven't done this in recent years, but thought I'd mention it.

What is the Loyalty Bonus?

Frequent Flyer members can claim a Loyalty Bonus of 50 Status Credits for every 500 Status Credits earned on flights with a Qantas or Jetstar Airlines (JQ or GK) flight number within a single Membership Year - up to a maximum of four Loyalty Bonuses (equivalent of 200 Status Credits) per Membership Year.

Members must claim their Loyalty Bonus within 90 days from the date the Loyalty Bonus is achieved.

When members choose to receive Loyalty Bonus Status Credits, these Status Credits will count towards reaching and keeping Silver, Gold and Platinum, as well as reaching Lifetime Silver, Gold and Platinum. When chosen before 31 December 2025, Loyalty Bonus Status Credits will count towards reaching and keeping Platinum One. Loyalty Bonus Status Credits will not count towards the next Loyalty Bonus Platinum Bonus Reward or other Platinum One additional benefits.

They absolutely do count, they do not have to be QF metal. As it says in the text, if it is QF or JQ marketed (ie sold with a QF or JQ code) it counts. I have done plenty of codeshares this year and they all counted.

You might want to give them a call but that sounds very odd.

The T&Cs are quite clear they count
21.7.1 Members can claim 50 Status Credits for every 500 Status Credits earned on flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number (including partner airline flights with a Qantas (QF) flight number) or on flights with a Jetstar Airlines (JQ and GK) flight number (including partner airline flights with a Jetstar Airlines flight number) within a single membership year
