Qantas to fly to Delhi from Sydney & Melbourne

The ADL int terminal dep zone has been redeveloped in the past few months, now very modern.
First go to check in, as with dom pax.
Go through dom security.
Go to QP/J lounge if you want.
Go downstairs to outgoing immi and int security screening.
Then go upstairs to the closed off area, which is really just the dom zone, but closed off.
Think that the flight from SYD is an overnight layover, to meet the 330 that comes empty from where ever, to fly to DEL
Edit: strange, on a Wed, in Apr 2022, if you put in a dummy booking, it puts you through ADL -> SYD, SYD -> BKK, all with QF, then from BKK -> DEL with TG.
Few days ago, direct flights did come up, then maybe someone changed their mind, for 7 days, when I did a dummy booking, it all sent pax via BKK with TG, as we know, no QFF points or QF SC earned this way.
Sun, Mon, Tue, they put you through ADL -> MEL -> DEL.
Maybe in the meantime, while we muse about it, they (QF) have changed their minds about ADL int flights again
Checking Oct 2022, also they put pax through MEL.
I had a booking in December leaving Sydney to Delhi, via Darwin. This has now updated to via Adelaide but except for departure time now being about 5 min later, nothing else has changed (flight number, seat number etc). So what will be the transit procedure now? Your description above is if you were starting in Adelaide (and would be similar to leaving say Coolangatta on an international flight). Originally via Darwin I was assuming it was going to be much the same as the QF9 procedures. It also says the stopover is now only 1 hour in ADL, which would barely be enough time to get off and then back on again.

I am only guessing and maybe wrong, assuming you have gone through immigration in SYD I suspect that the sliding doors will be locked creating a holding pen/ fish bowl that is normally used for international departures. You may just walk off the plane and be confined to this area and not allowed entry to the main terminal area. Would be interested know what the process is.

If it's out of SYD and MEL on the same flight number, you'll complete the customs procedures there.
If it's any other domestic connection then, this is completed in ADL.

Contact QF and see.
You might have to stay at the Atura overnight, or they might put you on the flight via MEL.
If they put you via MEL, I believe that the first flight out of SYD to MEL, would also be a dom flight.
If they say you will still have to go via ADL, and they put you into the flight the day prior, you will do dom security in SYD, and go through dom & int security in ADL, and then immi outgoing in ADL.
See what QF say.
I have only seen the ADL dom terminal, and used it many times, but have not gone through the newly upgraded ADL int security and outgoing immi at ADL of late.
Edit: For bogusidiot, I assume you are on QF733, SYD -> ADL, if so, its a dom flight, on a linked PNR & tix, on the 22 Dec, ...
No int lounge access in SYD if this is the case.
If you are on QF731, then you would have time for the joint QF ADL QP/QFd ADL J lounge.
But you can go straight from SYD arr at ADL gate 20 onwards, and straight to outgoing int security and immi at ADL airport, and your passport would have been swiped by QF in SYD, and they (QF) in SYD would have given you 2 BP, one for SYD -> ADL, and one ADL -> DEL.
ADL airport is smallish.
No ADL int lounge either, (timewise), and with only an hour to transit ADL airport, while it can be done to go to the QFd J lounge, maybe for such short a transit, I would not do it.
Pure assumption its QF733.

The OP isn't on any domestic flight. Will be international flight QF67 out of SYD.

On 22 Dec, there is QF69 from ADL to DEL, the starting flight shows its a dom flight starting in SYD.
Bogusidiot says starting SYD though, not MEL.
If starting in MEL, then yes, will be an int flight, but if starting in SYD, and if 22 Dec, first flight I see is a QFd.
But what do I know anyway.
Edit: if on the 13 Dec, then yes, I see your point, but bogusidiot hasn't given us a date of travel.
But then, if a person wanted to fly to DEL from ADL, on the 13 Dec, it puts you through ADL -> SYD -> SIN -> CMB -> DEL.
So, I would say on the 13 Dec, the flight SYD ->ADL is to pick up fuel only, and not to pick up any pax, so its a true transit, and you can't visit the ADL QP/QFd lounge.

@bogusidiot has given us enough information that the date of travel is one of the dates that the direct SYD-DEL is running.

Just to let you all know, the QF flight from Syd to Del officially starts tommorow, hopefully this service will turn out to be all year round. On a side note, does anyone know if Sri Lankan airlines are permanently servicing Sydney now?

To elaborate, the Adelaide airport web site cites QF067 arriving from Sydney at 07:45am, then departing to Delhi at 08:45am. If a transit passenger wanted to go to the QF lounge I doubt they would be allowed (not enough time). If they did go, then it would mean going through customs and border security upon re-entering the international section, (not worth the effort).

You would also need to go through customs and immigration on exiting the transit area, and although you've come from Sydney, they would be looking for the "D" sticker on your bordering pass (or whatever it is they do these days for that) which you wouldn't have. And if you've got bags checked, that just raises even more issues.

Absolutely no way you can do this with a 60 minute fuel stop.
