Just received a Citi group Qantas premier cc. Has 75 sc's attached. (so cost me $199 to get these for first year fees). Applications closed 24 Feb. Then silence til they emailed me about 2 complimentary Q club invites, so I presumes application had gone through.

I had put off telling them a start date.

Had to Email to nominate my challenge start date from today (are Q always this hopeless trying to phone them-could be a total deterrent from flying with them).
Hope the sc's don't drop in before today. Not going to activate or touch my card til I know my challenge period has started. Girl on telephone card inquiries said it takes 6-8 weeks for sc's to come.???

I got the email originally but never activated it. Trying to look for it now but cannot find it and have not yet received a reminder.

Is the activation link relatively simple (ie copy/paste when logged in), or is it coded with a long activation code?
Mine was a -just reply to this email when you have a nominated date!

Anyone having longer than usual delays in Jetstar status points being credited?

Been waiting on 30 (10 x 3) points to get credited

They used to show up 6 days after the flight without fail (I fly Friday, in my account the following Thursday). Except now all of a sudden they're not showing up at all. I've flown three flights in Feb that haven't been credited. I've put claims in for all of them and the first one has now gone past the date the claim is meant to be resolved.

Yes I'm eligible for the credits (starter plus fare).

The conspiracy theorist in me is getting jumpy as I'm exactly 30 points short to complete my fast track to gold status. I will still be able to hit 100 points before my fast track time expires....but right now would be nicer than stretching out for another month.

JQ flights in NZ normally post after about 9 days (give or take). From mid February they've been much slower and I'm still waiting on some (i.e. nearly 4 weeks and yet to post).

As mentioned above I am in the approved, but didn't nominate a start date bucket. I just had a call (didn't answer, have been getting a lot of spam lately) from someone from Qantas who advised more would be emailed. If you also haven't nominated a date yet you may get a call too?
Thanks for that info. No call for me yet but I was able to ask the QF Facebook team a question and they have sent it to the FF team.

If I don't hear next week, I will give the FF team a call and ask for it to commence at the end of March.

SC will mostly come, anecdotally, shortly after first statement. I have had the card for around 3 weeks but no SC, started my fast track yesterday.

Still no acknowledgement of email for challenge date I nominated as 10 March. Waiting on phone forever.
BUT.
Just checked my membership status. Im still Bronze, but it says I am a Qantas Club member til 30 June. I havn't been a Q club member for years! Does anyone know if this means my challenge has been activated and is 3 and a half months.?

I would suspect the start date is whatever you actually nominated but no expectation it actually lasts longer than the initial 90 days. I nominated 30 March for my start date but I also already have the Bronze Qantas Club showing in my app, but I’m not counting on SCs actually counting until the nominated date.

I flew CNS-BNE-SYD on Monday in business class which earned me 100 status credits.

24 hours after the departure of the first flight I checked the app and found this.

I tried several times to obtain a digital membership card to add to my wallet without success.

I can't recall if this has been mentioned, but does your expiry reflect your usual anniversary date? I.E. >12 months of Gold, so your renewal period beings at the end of your current membership year?

75SC posted two days after first statement.

It has been a very long time since I last flew Qantas but from memory my anniversary date is the end of January.

This status bump gives me gold status for the remainder of this flying year and for the year after, making it the end of January 2023.

Am still evaluating whether to make QF my main airline or to remain with VA where I have had platinum status since moving over from QF. I'm quite happy with VA's product. Earning points and status credits with airline partners SQ and DL are at the same rate as I would earn with VA whereas earnings with partner airlines with QF is often at a reduced rate. Also VA fares are much more attractive. The only downside is there is no longer a VA lounge in my home port of CNS.

Thanks, I assumed as much.

I am also very much in the same boat as you. To be honest, I am unsure whether I am going to bother (gasp!) retaining any status with any airline in future. I haven't purchased a Qantas fare in what must be at least 8 years which is probably for a number of good reasons, including price. I don't have particularly fond memories of the domestic experience either, but obviously I am willing to give them a go.

I find it interesting that QF is $109 MEL-SYD while VA directly matches Rex at $79.

same as MEL-OOL VA has at $77 while QF is $109, one of many mid-market price benefits of VA rebirth.

Was just looking at that route as well. And only one of QF's two daily flights seem to be offered at that low price.

I guess the counter argument is, fly Jetstar and add the bundle.

True but VA is a measurably more pleasant experience than JQ, in my opinion anyway, with proper priority boarding and noticeably more room. Plus if you're Plat on VA the EconomyX product is a nice benefit, and you have the option to upgrade to biz if you feel like the extra comfort for any reason.

I'm actually quite liking the direction VA seems to be going in. Just as long as they get around to re-opening the SYD premium entry, I absolutely love that feature. Thanks to status match I'll have a foot in both camps and am looking to make a call soon on where to focus my loyalty more, but I find myself questioning whether QF is worth the additional expense (and the frequent prospect of winding up on JQ)...

Gee, Qantas, thanks for letting me know about this... three weeks after the fact and four days before my nominated start date. 🙄 🤣

I never planned on an extension so it makes no difference to me, but seems a bit silly to offer an "extension"... retroactively.

Same for me, just got the email now. My nominated date was 20th March and it's barely an extension given my end date would have been 18th June.
They have confirmed that the current double status credits offer will count towards the fast track offer though, so I guess that's good to know given that they haven't counted towards previous 'fast track' type offers.

I got the same email and mine had already started, in anticipation of my ADL/BNE on Monday night (heading BNE/ADL on VA Monday AM). Now let's see what happens with the COVID case in Brisbane (not in quarantine) - I'm in the northern suburbs and thankfully didn't go anywhere near him...

"Thank you for participating in the Qantas Status Fast Track, where you have the opportunity to be upgraded to Gold when you earn 100 Status Credits*.

We know you have previously nominated a start date (edit: in my case i was 8 March), however, following border restrictions earlier this year, we have given you more time to earn the required 100 Status Credits. We have automatically activated your Status Fast Track, which means any flights you take or have taken between 4 March through to 30 June 2021 will help you qualify.

For a limited time we've made this even easier with double Status Credits on eligible Qantas operated flights across Australia^. Simply register and book an eligible flight before 30 March 2021.

As a Qantas Status Fast Track participant you'll also enjoy access to our Qantas Club lounges when you fly with us until 30 June 2021. To access the Qantas Club, please make sure your Frequent Flyer number is in your booking, and simply present your boarding pass or digital Qantas Club card available on the Qantas App upon entry.

Thank you for your support and we look forward to seeing you onboard.

The Qantas Frequent Flyer Team"

Hmm, makes me thing that the DSC will count towards the 100 SC's - yeah baby if that's the case, as I have PER & CBR trips to book and fly in April, then MEL & SYD in May, nice to split between the two carriers to ensure best of both worlds.

Just got the same email with the same situation 😂
Lucky for me I had a return flight last week so now I'm already 20sc closer to fast track.

The FAQ of the DSC promo confirms it does :)
