Qantas ticketing delays - likely risk of losing booking.

Anyone with experience on a delayed ticket with a JAL award? Reading here I understand MH and QR can drop awards if not ticketed quickly.
It took about a week for a recent JAL award booking (Sydney to Tokyo) to be issued for me. A separate JAL award booking (Tokyo to Melbourne) was issued straight away.

Thank you for the responses. The ticket came through just under 48hrs without me calling.

Although everything worked as it should for me, it's sad that there isn't much trust in the system.

Happy Easter

Wondering how long I wait for it to ticket before calling up. Only been 24hrs so far
My JAL Award booking errored so had to call.
Friday straight through and with some help they managed to get an itinerary.
Saturday, no ticked, got straight through again and there was a problem, said it was fixed and should have ticket in a few hours.
Today, Sunday no ticket , got straight through again and eventually they got the problem sorted, eTicket an hour later. Seemed to be an issue with system wanting passport details?
Fiji call centre, they were very helpful but did not seem to have much knowledge.

There are so many permutations especially when multiple carriers are involved.

As a data point my itinerary is quite simple. 2pax

Single QF to HND. Overnight
Single JAL to LHR. 2 weeks
Single JAL CDG-HND connecting to a single QF flight with 6hrs between.

All booked online with no drama in one hit.

I had issues with an AA ticket YUL-LGA. I booked it two weeks before the flight, it took a week before it got canned by AA, a call to reinstate it then 3 more calls up until the night before (11am flight) before it finally issued. Had issues with API, then taxes and then points. Fortunately calls to the US line were immediately answered.

Even a SYD-LAX ticket had issues being ticketed recently because of issues with the API.

Last week I requested an award ticket online for a Royal Jordanian flight.

Everything appeared to go through correctly, and it's showing in My Bookings, but points have not been deducted or credit card charged.

Is this normal, and if so, how long does it usually take to get the itinerary ticketed? I'm concerned that the seats might disappear before ticketing takes place (if ever).

Just wondering if I should try and cancel without penalty via the call centre and rebook elsewhere (I have enough credits with UL to do this). I've had a bad experience with Qantas in the past where they did not ticket a CX booking.

What thoughts?

You need to call and insist on ticketing because of the risk of cancellation.

If the agent doesn’t call through to hand it don’t immediately then HUACA.

Well I'm now thinking that if Qantas can't (or won't) ticket the flight, the best course of action would be for it to be cancelled so that I can go to a more competent airline and make the booking.

I was in two minds before going with Qantas, and in retrospect I should've gone with UL (using my $2,000 credit) , and may well do so now.

QF really don't seem to like making awards available to partner airline. A few days ago A fellow posted about an award JFK - SYD and how he had to go JQ NRT-OOL and then on to SYD.
I looked up Aadvantage and they had J availability on JAL JFK-HND-SYD for 100000 points, plus just $US 68.60.
Searching QF on mrsdrron's account no JAL mentioned from Japan to Australia at all.

we have just used EK points for QF Bne Per and there’s availability in J on every day, unlike what’s available on QF itself.

Recently did a point's plus pay with one of the flights being a code share on a partner airline. Waited a week, no tickets were issued and the flight with the partner airlines disappeared from my booking.

Called Qantas and they claim the issue was on my end, whilst Amex claims it was Qantas who didn't take the funds.

I then had to rebook and got the tickets within the hour, be careful as there was no communication informing me my flights weren't confirmed/ticketed.

It's not only award tickets that can have this problem. In 2020 I purchased a Qantas revenue ticket that included two domestic flights on PG within Thailand (BKKCNX and CNXBKK) and one on SQ (BKKSIN) as part of my journey back to Australia to connect with QF in SIN. Bangkok Airways told me they couldn't find my booking on either flights, then later, SQ told me the same thing in BKK. It turned out that Qantas had failed to issue the ticket on time and that the airlines had cancelled the bookings. Fortunately, in all cases, the airlines eventually allowed me on the flights, but it took them a lot of work and many phone calls.

Booked a classic reward flight BNE-MKY for early August. Booking made in mid March. Points deducted last week, and still no e ticket received. Booked online on QF website, on QF metal. It is showing in MMB and seat selection done.

Should I chase this up with the call centre, or just be patient. Does domestic ticketing often take this long?

The good thing with it being QF metal is you shouldn't lose the seat. Weird that the points were deducted last week even though the booking was in March - does the email itinerary option in MMB work?

No it gives an error message, and the resend invoice option is not there either. It is on all my other bookings that have been e-ticketed.

I booked a couple of Classic Flight Rewards on QR nearly 2 weeks ago & have not received anything from QF yet.

Initially I tried the email itinerary on QF website which just produced an error message, why am I not surprised  Next I checked on the QR website where I found the booking with 081 number & emailed a copy of the PDF E-Ticke to myself which arrived promptly, again why am I not surprised.

Sorry to be re-hashing this old post but does anyone have any advice on how to get this similar issue sorteD? Is there a better number to be calling than the rubbish 13 ** number? I feel like the staff that answer that call read off the script and don't listen or answer your questions at all.
I made two classic reward bookings a few days ago for some Westjet flights in January. Points taken, taxes taken. Never received any e ticket, then when checking earlier today they came up as "cancelled". Called the 13 number multiple times, got hung up on, got someone who had no idea what to do and told me she would get someone to call me back. Eventually a lovely lady who seemed to have a clue spent a good 40 minutes trying to re secure these, telling me they are coming up on her end and everything will be sent for ticketing and I should get a confirmation soon. She said the reason the original booking didn't go ahead was it timed out at 24 hours (I guess WESTJET have a 24 hr window). Im back on the phone to them now its been about 5 hrs later trying to get them to ticket it now for me and they are apparently "trying to process the points". This just sounds like a copout considering the points were already deducted from me about 4 days ago when I made the original booking. I just don't think anyone on the 13** line can help me get this sorted again before the 24 hr window expired. Any advice? Sorry I should add the agents I get say they need to put a request into the ticketing department. How can I possibly even speak to someone in ticketing directly to help us rather than being told they will call me back(which I don't believe)

Last night, I booked 2 Syd-Kul J awards on MH for next year with Qf points....the surcharges were charged straight away and the points were only deducted this am. I have not received the etickets as yet. Should I be waiting a bit longer (how Long?) for the etickets or should I be ringing QF now to get the tickets issued so I don't lose the award seats. I read upthread that MH will cancel the award seats if the ticketing is not done pretty soon eg 24-48 hours. Advice? Thanks
