Looks like they have reused much of the space of the original international Business lounge that was operational in the mid 90's.Today's visit at the Temporary SYD INTL J Lounge - now the 777 has pushed back:
Sri Lankan send their J and status pax to The House. However as a oneworld carrier, you can try the QF business lounge unless the current space limitation is used as a reason to deny entry.Would anyone know which lounge Sri Lankan passengers will be using?
Thanks in advance
The space @Captain Halliday took a picture of was part of the original Int Bus lounge prior to shuttering up. This part has had those benches and the vertical space defining slat partitions last I was there 2 months ago. It's opposite the 2nd much quieter servery and 2nd set of toilets. It's the area that leads out to the under the 1st escalators overflow J lounge. Although in the picture (might be the angle of the shot) they do seem to be bunched up.Looks like they have reused much of the space of the original international Business lounge that was operational in the mid 90's.
ISTR, that space also being used around 2006 while the First lounge was being built above where it currently is.
Depends if flying Business Class or have appropriate status. I guess that you meet the criteriaWould anyone know which lounge Sri Lankan passengers will be using?

Oh gosh, how long ago was that? Not sure when the current 1st lounge started operating. (oops just saw 2007 in your post) That would explain why this area is through a smallish opening (next to the barista station) and by habit, nearly everybody turn left or stay in the sardine packed central seating area just past the reception desk.Sorry, i quoted the, wrong post, I meant it to be that of @bussyboy 's.
Of @Captain Halliday 's photo, that area was originally used as part of the First lounge, before it was moved upstairs in 2007.

Opened just before the Olympics in 2000 the mezzanine facility above gate 8 was for both the business and first lounges. These were on the one level with most space to the North being the business lounge with the remaining the First lounge. The First entrance was in the same place it is today.Oh gosh, how long ago was that? Not sure when the current 1st lounge started operating. It would have been a windowless 1st lounge or did it also extend to include the living wall and its prestige instilling walk of pride open space to the 1st escallators.
