FWIW......SWMBO dropped back to Gold yesterday. Due to high usage of classic awards :D she did not rack up the 4 qualifying flights.

Pretty good of QF to continue the soft landing!

Does anybody know whether there is a grace period after your Y/E before you actually drop down a level - to allow flights to post through to your QFF account. Reason for asking is I'll be flying to Europe and returning a few days after my Y/E and was wondering if there was any chance of my status still hanging in there. I'll only be about 100 points short of re-qualifying so theoretically there may be flights in the system yet to post.

I know the other alternative is a status run, but I can't find any mention on the forum whether there is any grace period when dropping a level.

That would be very interesting - as my AB and AY flights usually take ages until they post (between 2 and 3 weeks automatically - quite often with manual retrocredit even much longer).

I have this question and wonder if anyone has an update on what happens/how long it takes for the drop in status to be recognised by QF and by other airlines?

I read somewhere it takes a day or two following the end of your membership year. Is that true? If it is, do you get OW benefits during the 1-2 days?
