Do you get any Qantas status credits when flying on a Qantas plane, but using an Emirates flight number?

No. You earn 0 status credits on an EK marketed flight.

And the points you get flying EK marketed are much less than you get flying QF marketed.

I don't think you would get either points or SCs.

9.3.2 For the purposes of earning Points, Status Credits and the Minimum Points Guarantee, Eligible Flights exclude Codeshare Flights where the Operating Carrier is Qantas, a oneworld Alliance Airline or an Airline Partner aircraft, and where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket, unless that flight has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight

I flew on an EK marketed and operated flight last year and got some points but 0 status credits. I presume an EK marketed and QF operated flight would earn at the same rate as an EK marketed and operated flight.

I don't think you would get either points or SCs.

I believe the line "For the purposes of earning Points, Status Credits and the Minimum Points Guarantee" is the relevant part.. ie to get points AND SC's and have the min points guarantee apply.

you can earn points, but not SC's etc on other partner flights (eg: EK)

I believe a flight like EK5xx_ codeshare on QF will earn points per the EK earning tables for QFF.

That's not how I read it, but I've never actually tried it so happy to be proved wrong if someone has.

Either way definitely no QF SC's even if QF is the operating carrier under an EK flight number.

That's not how I read it, but I've never actually tried it so happy to be proved wrong if someone has.

I do see how you're interpreting that line. I beieve the magic "and" with the comma in the condition is the key. ie you can earn points AND SC's and the min points guarantee but NOT if it's a codeshare on QF or OW or partner flight (which is correct) but this does not preclude the earning of points on a codeshare flight on QF operated by an appropriate partner (eg: EK or AA on QF).

Anyway I'd never book a QF metal flight as an EK codeshare either :)

going to labour this a bit more given it's not related to the question of SC's but I've read the T&C a few times and I think the detail is relevant:

For the purposes of earning Points, Status Credits and the Minimum Points Guarantee, Eligible Flights exclude Codeshare Flights where the Operating Carrier is Qantas, a oneworld Alliance Airline or an Airline Partner aircraft, and where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket, unless that flight has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight

my bolding.

I believe this is the core and needs to be read in full.

so *I* interpret this to basically say eligible flights exclude a QF operated flight OR oneworld fight or other QF partner operated flight that is sold as ANOTHER (non partner) airline flight"

as in the anchor to the exception is the tag of "another airline"(ie non QF, non OW, non airline partner) airline's flight number.

so.. an AY codeshare on QF is fine - it's a oneworld partner coding on a QF operated flight. Earns under AY rates
EK flight number on QF is fine
but say an EY codeshare on AA is *not* OK even though it would be an oneworld operated flight but purchased as "another airline" flight.

EK is a QF partner, so EK on QF works under this condition as I think it is written.

now I'll go back to my corner :D

You're reading the "(non partner)" bit into that. It just says "where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket". EK is another airline :)

IMNSHO the only exclusion might be the "has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight" bit, but I don't know how/where it might have been specified (I actually take this to mean they allow exclusions for special promotions etc, but I'm just guessing).

Since when is EK not a partner Airline? :D

I say again - you're reading the "(non partner)" bit into it. It doesn't say that.

I am about to book HKG-BKK-HKG on EK. Thought I would still earn QFF points even if only a small amount of points.

I say again - you're reading the "(non partner)" bit into it. It doesn't say that.

I still feel (and happy to be corrected by QF :) ) the intent here is basically any flight booked as another airline flight# - even IF it is operated by QF, an OW partner or airline partner - as in flights that would normally receive QFF points but if it's sold as another airline (which taken in context of the entire statement means anything that is NOT "Qantas, a oneworld partner or Airline Partner" - I know they say aircraft) it's that "AND" that is the key to me:

For the purposes of earning Points, Status Credits and the Minimum Points Guarantee, Eligible Flights exclude Codeshare Flights where the Operating Carrier is Qantas, a oneworld Alliance Airline or an Airline Partner aircraft, and where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket, unless that flight has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight

so it's "Codeshare Flights where the Operating Carrier is Qantas, a oneworld Alliance Airline or an Airline Partner aircraft" AND "where another airline's flight number is entered on the ticket, unless that flight has been specified by Qantas Loyalty as an Eligible Flight"

which still allows an EK code on a QF operated flight.

in my view.

Anyway guess we agree to disagree on this point (pun intended) :D

So if ANYONE has evidence of points being awarded on an EK codeshare on QF please for the love of God post it :D :D :D

You will. this discussion is about EK codeshares on QF, not EK metal flights :D

I mean the T&C say what they say. QF's intent may certainly be different and I'm happy to be corrected if that's the case. But it simply doesn't say partner airlines are excluded.

I reckon you should volunteer to try it, since you clearly don't need the SCs anyway ;)

Points yes.. not SCs.

This discussion is about if you booked a QF-metal flight using the EK codeahare
