Qantas Status Credits Boost

This presents some really interesting possibilities. I will now be just 400SC shy of Platinum ... a hotel booking and a credit card churn puts me to within just 200 of qualifying - with plenty of time to do it - and points club to earn SC on reward flights to help ...

The catch is (and I hate myself for saying this) I absolutely don't need Platinum and yeah sure gold is nice - but I don't really need it because I don't get that much use out of it because I don't do much flying anymore. So the real question is ... how much do I want it ;-)

Yes, there is an example of SCs that don't count towards lifetime:

This is incredibly generous by QF IMO. and more fair then the general extension to ensure one can have a good go to retain their status for the membership year afterwards.

I really hope this makes people happy now. I mean I honestly can't see why people would be unhappy???

Generous, and very smart marketing by QF, who among FF's isnt going to remember this moving forward.

33kft beat me to it. I thought that LT status was the one thing SCs would always contribute to, unlike the various ^ # * + conditions/exclusions such as not counting for P1 qual/requal, partner gold bonus etc. But as mentioned the credit card bonuses are excluded.

All the conditions could do with simplification... but not Simpler or Fairer™ or Enhancement™

TOTALLY agree. I was a bit down around the fact that the new Gold status I had worked hard to attain in my own right (as I didn't benefit from the 1 year extension) was just languishing, with month after month being eaten away from my unused membership due to the current situation. I feel these new measures are incredibly generous - and it will only increase my loyalty going forward as in the future I'll remember these times that when the cough did hit the fan, we were still looked after.

Well I like this !

600 SC in March 2021 auto retains Gold from March 2022 without doing anything!

Lounges forever!

if by travelling, it cuts the earn needed for WP by March 2022, so by MID-late 2022, it’s should be a dawdle over the line to LTG

Wow, this is a further surprise. As a end of Mar year person I am happy with the response even though I didn’t get the free extension (being close to LTG I value the SCs more). I think they’ve done a pretty good job to be fair across the board.

300SCs to retain WP is easy as. But I guess it’s not costing them much to keep me WP.

There's MEL to Mildura (MQL). An hour or so on a Dash 8 should revive the feeling of travel

MEL can’t leave the metro area.

Did you miss the Woolies promo? Plus BP?

There have been ways. There will be more.

But you'll get the boost in November, 2020.

Yes, I did those. I meant the discretionary shopping on Qantas Mall. Could be 1SC per $10 or something

The fine print below suggests SC vary from hotel to hotel, but there are no status credits shown on any luxury hotel offers

" the number of Status Credits earned varies between hotels and is limited to a maximum of 100 Status Credits per booking, and a maximum of 125 Status Credits over the whole campaign. See qantas.com/luxuryhotels for the full list of eligible hotels and available Status Credits.
I don't see any status credits being offered with any of the listed hotel offers either. Hopefully Qantas is looking into it.
