Hi everyone, could I please get confirmation that my understanding of Qantas status renewal/ expiry is correct.

Currently my status total says I need to earn xx_ more status credits to attain the next level of status Before Monday 30 November 2020.

Now if I have a flight on Monday 30 November, I assume that the status credits for that flight will last 12 months, applied to the new 12 month period. However any previously earned status balance I had would be wiped from 30th November.

If I had a flight on Tuesday 29th November the status credit earn would apply to the previous period, and would effectively be wiped after 1 day.

Does this sound right? Thanks!

Not quite.
If you have a flight on 30 November 2020, the status credits will apply to the 2019-2020 year, and will not count for the 2020-2021 year.

Any credits earned on 30 November, will last until the end of the day on 30 November 2020.

As for 29 November, yes that is correct, they will also be wiped at the end of 30 November,.

Your membership year ends at 23:59 and 59 seconds on the last day of the month you joined in (or what is written on your statement). This means a flight taken on Monday 30 November 2020, as in your case, would earn to the current membership year of 2019-2020, not the next membership year, despite the transaction on your statement posting by December (in the next membership year) most likely.

The important note is that the status credits earn to the year they were flown, and not the year they turn up. This can be especially troubling when flying partner airlines that don't post in anything similar to a quick manner.
