I have had many issues with Priority Boarding failing and to the point of frustration when it was 90% of my flights in 1 month (16 sectors), I decided not fly QF for 3 months. Any way its been 6 weeks and I have caved in and took a flight yesterday from MEL SYD OOL.

Let me start by saying no lines at check in the checkin agent was fantastic she had a smile on her face and was genuinely nice, saw my WP1 tag and said would you like a paper baggage ticket or use the tag I said I would rather have the paper ticket as I am transiting in Sydney, all was done and she wished me a pleasant journey. Got to the security line for WP Business and Gold and there was a long line, till a supervisor came over and moved people on whom should not have been in the line.

Went upstairs to the lounge, a nice smiling face said welcome and asked if knew where the J lounge was, and then I went into the J lounge and again another smiling face. The service at the bar was fast and efficient I had a coffee. The flight was called QF 440 from gate 7, go tot he gate great signage for priority boarding and a long line at the normal boarding and only a couple in front of me whom came from the J lounge, so it worked perfectly. Got on board the 767 and yes I had a shadow in row 1 so happy, the crew fantastic busy serving but took the time out to ask how my weekend was and the we would be early and I would have more time in the lounge before QF 864 to OOL.

Sydney lounge staff smiled I had one drink then walked down to gate 12 in Sydney. Signage terrible for priority boarding but it worked so thats all that matters. Got on board and again a shadow thank you. We were around 25 minutes late leaving due to engineering issues (I have no problem with delays due to Engineering or weather) We got underway and again great service from CSM and the crew for such a short sector.

Straight off the aircraft and down to baggage waited 2 to 3 minutes at the most and yes my bag was number 3 out.

Qantas I am so happy it can be done and thank you

It's pretty telling that a WP1 should be so disillusioned with QF that they choose to not fly them for three months.

Any comment Red Roo?

Thought not.

Mickeyc747, great that all worked for you this time. To be honest I was reading this expecting you to say, "And then I woke up".

In all fairness I am quick to complain BUT when QF get it right then they are world class however, as I have said before the most consistent thing about Qantas is the Inconsistency.

Giggly.
So you are back into the fold.
Truthfully, QF is still better than VA in many ways.
VA has a long way to go from a LCC image to mid service.
And VA fares ADL to PER are not cheap, even in Saverlite. At least QF has a better QP than VA lounge.

I only have 6 sectors booked with them between now and September 15. OOL SYD ADL, OOL SYD JNB, JNB SYD OOL.

What I like about QF is the bar code on the back of the QCC/QFF card, better than VA's system of using smart phone or ipod with 3d QR code on using OLCI at the gate.

The old velocity cards have barcode at the back of the card, maybe they could be used in conjunction with the new status cards during boarding?

What's used on QF's mobile BP if not a QR Code?

Good to see you had such a good service, mickeyc747.

I do wonder, though, if this is because you were travelling at a weekend when staff seem to be so more relaxed without the hordes present of a typical weekday.

As Ansett said, if only it could be consistently so.

Regards,

BD
