Qantas seems to have announced my death!

My life expectancy date is almost certainly 50 years from when I purchased it.Though as I will be 97 when it ends I doubt it will cause too many problems.Especially if AA is still around and they let me keep LTP.
I'm not worried either but it's the principle. See my other reply today. Just walked past Le Soleal docked in Reykjavik Harbour and we are joining Hebridean Sky this afternoon. TR to come on return; it's too difficult to submit on the trip with only a tablet.

LT PS / LT QC Member here

Based on My Account, it appears that either myself, or my Lifetime QC Membership will expire on the 7/1/2057

Appreciate the heads-up QF - it certainly helps with my decision making processes heading into my late 70s :)

Just checked Dr FM’s account and yes her lifetime membership expires in 2054 which would be 50 years after I purchased it for her. Probably not an issue by then, as she is already LTS and if she continues flying Qantas I would hope she is LTG well before then (if such things still exist). It’s not anywhere near as useful as it used to be, so I feel it served its purpose in giving her club access while she was young and impoverished :)

Thanks for this advice. I'm in Iceland at the moment and haven't checked it out yet. 50 years seems to line up. Poor customer service if they have made a change without notification. Will check on return.
i am also a lifetime member,

i just checked and i have the same date of expiry as well

Oh No!

I just checked mine after seeing this thread and found out I expire Sunday 28 May 2102

I will only be 152yo. I guess they forecast I will be using a different lounge by then.

As a lifetime Qantas Club member since the 90s, I got a bit of a shock when I logged into my account recently and saw the message:-
"Qantas Club Member. Your membership expires Wednesday 18 September 2047"

Does Qantas know something that I don't?

My wife is an associate life member and I also checked her account. Her message is :-
"Qantas Club Member. Your membership expires Sunday 10 August 2098". Obviously a clean living girl!

I just found mine as well, seems they have me pegged for dying aged 72. Well, not sure if I am happy about that portent...

Like everyone else I was shocked to see an expiry date on my account . I read the expiry as being 2021 and was not happy but hoped it was a glitch . After reading this thread I've checked my account again and relieved to find my expiry date is 9th May 2104 so I no longer think it's lining up with the 50yr theory :)

I joined in 1999, my card says LIFETIME.

But the eCard on the app says OCT 2053 which is a few months before my 90th.

~ Hi K, we've been advised that this is the default date for lifetime memberships. Please feel free to reach our frequent flyer tram on 13 11 31 for further assistance. C____

Maybe all QC Lifers should call? Or send emails until we get a sensible response.

my two kids have the same and they will be early 60s by then, so it probably matters a bit more to them than the 90 year olds. :).

On the other hand I am happy to let them fight that battle when they get to that age and if the membership even still exists. When I bought it for them I thought if they got 10 years use it would be worth it and they have definitely got that and will get more.

Nowhere near as useful as when I first bought it for them though, when it used to get them access to all the BA lounges.
