I just logged into my Qantas Club membership to check something and noticed a message that says my club membership will expire on 18 Feb 2040! I've been a life member since 1990 so assume Qantas knows when I'm going to leave this mortal coil. Has anyone else received the same message? Realistically I don't think I will be flying much in 2040 but you'd think Qantas would have notified me of the change. Maybe this is in the rules fine print and I missed it.

Not sure if it's connected, but I did have a problem with 'dates' recorded in the Qantas system in the last 24 hours.

Qantas changed the year of my birth to 8 years before I was actually born. When I called them about this they claimed that such a change could not possibly have happened and it must have been wrong all along! I've been a members since 1995 and it certainly was never recorded wrongly before yesterday.

It is under my SC earning in a box titled-Qantas Club Member.
Not on mrsdrron's account as she is not a QP member.

My QC membership was put on hold many years ago since I have been gold and platinum. But soon to be downgraded to Silver. Where can I find how many years are left on my QC? I’ve searched and searched on the web in my account. Nothing that I can find. Thanks if you can direct me to where I can find that info.

I can't help sanne. This is the first time I've ever seen any expiry date on my login. As I said in the post I'm a lifetime member which means the only expiry date is when I leave this mortal coil. I assume if you are a yearly member you would receive renewal notices however I've never renewed on an annual basis. I will contact Qantas to find out what is going on unless someone on this forum can help. Going away shortly so won't be contacting them until August. Personally I'm not too worried since I will be slightly younger, but not much, than drron on my expiry date! It's the principle I'm interested in following up - how can Qantas have an expiry date on lifetime membership. I know they don't offer it any more so perhaps they are trying to get rid of all lifetime members.

Under 'My Account', in the heading 'Qantas Club Member', it says 'Your membership expires .....', well mine does anyway.

Thank you for your help. Unfortunately it doesn’t show Qantas Club Member in My Account. Will ring qantas and check.

I think these dates are only for those who have lifetime QP.

I would just ignore it as a lifetime membership means for the reminder of the life. Anything short of that would be misleading or deceptive.

I dont know if you ever got an answer to this. I certainly dont have lifetime QP so cant speak per say.
But i just noticed a post on AUSBT suggesting that the membership term was just cut to 50 years. Does this line up with what you are seeing? 50 years after purchase date is the new expiry? I dont have the lifetime membership but i would be really pissed to have it limited and not get a letter or anything notifying of the change or offering any compensation.

I asked the member if he has got any confirmation from QF about lifetime expiry, or if he is speculating with a lot of steam. Timing of this is around QF implementing the changes in the back-end early May, so I wouldn't be surprised if it is an unintended error of the updates.

My life expectancy date is almost certainly 50 years from when I purchased it.Though as I will be 97 when it ends I doubt it will cause too many problems.Especially if AA is still around and they let me keep LTP.

Thanks for this advice. I'm in Iceland at the moment and haven't checked it out yet. 50 years seems to line up. Poor customer service if they have made a change without notification. Will check on return.
