Hi

I had a EWR - LAX- BNE reward flight booked via Qantas, the EWR - LAX happened to be on Alaskan Air

I called Qantas a week ago when I got Business class flights in there recent sale. I called then and asked them to cancel the LAX-BNE leg but keep the EWR-LAX section as there was no longer availability.

Qantas advised me that they completed this for me and the refund and points may take up to 8 weeks etc.

What has happenedd so far

- The LAX BNE leg has disappeared
- The EWR LAX leg is still there with the same PNR number and ticket number as previous.
- On Alaskan the EWR - LAX flight is still there
- On manage my booking I emailed the intenary to myself and the LAX-BNE leg was still on the ticket.
- No refund of points or dollars

So in summary all that has appeared to happened is the removal of the LAX-BNE leg in the my booking tab.

Do I have anything to worry about, how long should i wait for confirmation.

Thanks

Sounds like the new e-ticket for the EWR-LAX flight only has not been issued yet, and I am assuming you haven't received a new 'Confirmation and E-Ticket Flight Itinerary for xx_xx_ (your PNR)' email from Qantas since then.

Only real option is to follow up with Qantas and ask them to issue your updated e-ticket ASAP. Not sure what AA is like, but certainly other airlines are known to drop reward seats if they are not reticketed in time.
