A mosquito was heard to complain
That a chemist had poisoned his brain
The cause of his sorrow
Was paradichloro
Diphenyltrichloroethane.

I'll be sure to ask the source of my water in QF J/F in future, as I won't be drinking aircraft potable water under any circumstance.

Previously, to save plastic waste, they had large bottles of water and would refill the small ones.

Luckily I mainly drink sparkling and as long as the post upstream about sodastreams being installed, we'll be OK ;)

I drink filtered tap water at home but don't trust even filtered tap water in many QF destinations.

Do you avoid tea and coffee onboard also because of the potable water?

The water for tea and coffee is boiled, so it's a non-issue.
Though personally I rarely drink tea or coffee onboard.

Apart from the espresso machine in A380 F, there is no way I drink that road tar that purports to be coffee on an airplane.

But yes, it's boiled.

I drink filtered tap water at home, but I know where it came from and when I last changed the filter.

There us an espresso machine for J on the 333s but not on the 332s. Contrary to the QF J menus which simply state that it is not available on 73Xs.

I hope none of the filtered water contains this nasty substance!

There is a little truth in this. Those who object to any "chemical", ignoring the fact that everything is a chemical, are idiots.
But there is also an element of ridicule of genuine objections to the addition of unnecessary chemical additives to food.

It's good for your teeth, though...
I went to a presentation recently conducted by my dentist in Brisbane. One of the denstists has been in practice for over 40 years. He does not recommend fluoride and has been speaking against it use from the beginning. He believes its' use should be optional not compulsory by including in the water supply. Causes more health problems (cancer?) than what it is supposed to assist with?

I guess that is just one opinion.

He may well be right, but it doesn't look good when a dentist - who make money off people having bad teeth - says this stuff.
However is a gastro doctor was vocal about fluoride screwing up bowels etc... then we'd be on to a winner because their interests appear aligned with the greater good.

I drank plane potted water yesterday. Feel terrible today... but it might also be the fresh air.

In financial services, we call that "conflicted remuneration"...

Maybe so but he seems quite genuine in his care of patients. I didn't take is as a conflict of interest. He just mentions that fluoride should not be added to water. People can use it all they like.

His focus is on correcting posture and "bite". Has teamed with a chiropractor over 25 years and has helped many children.

Let me guess, he thinks the fluouride is being used for mind control?

And chiropracters are just as much psuedo-science woowoo as the anti-fluouride thing.

No. More like unnecessary food additives/colourings/preservatives.

I don't believe in chiropractors either but the results are there to see.

Complete crank best avoided IMHO

What results? Broken necks? Pseudoscience charletons the lot. Science based medicine in favour of quacks is the only result that count.
