Qantas Points Club Discussion

Protip - PCP is limited to 125k points per transaction - don't be me and transfer 800k points in 1 go - do large transfers in multiple transactions - I would be PCP already except that I was ignorant and didn't read the T&Cs.

Managed to regain points club, just under 6 months into my year. Unlikely to make PCP however.
Ditto. 5mths for me - part due to a huge QF Hotels stay.

Yep, that extra 200k is tough.

Meanwhile, is anyone else not getting SCs on QF CR flights?

2 from 2 recent flights and no auto posting. SYD+1 (also PC), posted ok - same bookings, same flights…🤷‍♂️

Retro claims at least processed within 48 hrs.

Not today. First redemption flight since attaining PC last month and the 80 SC posted before we took off. (Admittedly there was a 4 hour hiatus between boarding and actual take off.)

A couple of others have reported recently that their QF revenue flights are not posting for them at all. My last (QF paid flight) a few months ago now, posted promptly (as have partner flights). So I don’t know if I’m in that camp yet.

Next QF flights early January - so I’ll wait and see…

I’ve also just requalified as PC thru to July 2027, so that may affect things. Although no QF award flights in the system to check anytime soon…

I have to get 90000 by the end of January and not going to even try. 6 months out of the country meant not much credit card spend. I'll try next year

Pretty sure I know the answer but just checking that the PC+ 100 SC rollover occurs immediately after the member year rollover from the year you attained PC+?

ie if I attain PC+ before the end of my current member year on 31 July, I’ll get 100 SCs sometime in August?

With the QFF changes announced today, I’m going to give PC+ a crack for the first and now probably for the last time to grab those extra SCs.

Due to the uncertainty around the exact timing of the rollout of general SC rollover and higher retention thresholds for status, that one-off foot up could come in handy. Not to mention GT and 50 SCs is all but dead to me now.

As mentioned earlier, this year saw me out of the gate fast and I knocked over PC very quickly (thanks to QF Hotels and some regular stuff) and I’m now just past 250k pts with 5 mths to run. I have 20k QBR pts in the back pocket and probably an easy 50k+ from normal stuff coming. So it’ll probably only take a strategic case or two of QF Wine to sneak over the line (no churning required).

Just hoping that “Late 2026” for confirming the end of PC is after July!

I've had a couple of flights post to QBR, but not to my QFF account without doing a claim. Quite strange.

Very!

As an aside, I used the QBR online missing flights claim form the other day (SYD+1 had a booking that wasn’t allowing to add ABN, or any MMB functions) and those flights posted next day to QBR but no 250 bonus in the personal FF acc.

It's going to be interesting to see when the retiring of PC takes effect. My membership year starts in August, and I have PC+ (I've already earned a renewal until July 2027, too many one-off hotel stays this year haha). I may not have earned enough points to retain PC+ by the time it's retired, but I may have earned enough to 'retain' PC until July 2028. Guess I'll take advantage while I still can, as it looks like the 25/50% extra points on hotels is gone with the changes (even if they do keep the vouchers based on general status).

They could easily add in bonus hotel points based on status instead. But there are plenty of promos throughout the year offering double or triple hotels points.

In a manner, I can imagine that Qantas wines might be hit hard by this.
I think that, many who are PC/PC+ use QF wines and take advantage of the 10% discount (overpriced anyway), and free delivery.
But as it allocates points, for me it is the make or break of absorbing that cost, over Uncle Dan's is that we can earn points, towards PC+.

Without having a goal to try and reach each year (350k points), it's less likely happen.

QF have stated that some of the benefits of PC/PC+ may continue and they haven't decided yet. QF Wine will still be relevant, but in a different way:
  • There will be "vouchers & discounts" for QF Wine for tiered members - my guess is Silver & Gold get 5% off, Platinum gets 10% off and maybe P1 gets 15% off
  • QF Wine will be one of the 'on the ground' SC earn categories for 10-20 SC
  • The cost per point will still make it a good value proposition
  • Free delivery is part of Qantas Wine Premium which is already a perk of some credit cards, QBR, Accor Gold or better, and P1 (and will probably extend to other tiers also)
The only real losses from Points Club are the 100 SC rollover (for non P1s) and the QC membership for PC+ members who don't have status.

Hectic day so I’m yet to read the announcements or relevant threads in details, so very much appreciate the succinct analysis. 👌

Currently PC+ with only 30k points current year. I was going to do my usual plan of dumping woolies points and timing a credit card signup bonus for September when my new year starts then the 2 x Lounge passes tide me over for 3 or 4 months until I achieve PC+

Now I think I'll dump points right now for PC rollover and then a 150k dump in September which should take me to August 2028 for SC on CR bookings according to the wording of the PC closure
