The issue is that most of those points have a credit date of pre April, even though the post date is 1 April or later. It works the same way as SC - it doesn't matter when they actually arrive in your account, they will backdate.

Give it a few hours and the 10 points from BP Rewards which posted this morning should add to the counter, but the remainder of the points shown in the screenshot will have counted to last year's tally.

So i received Birthday Wine voucher today (which proves my mail preferences are ok) but never did get my $50 hotel voucher despite requalifying in late December. I dont know if I have the energy to chase it.

I had Points club in early 2020 (until 31 July 2021), lost it due to a poorly timed card churn, earned it back in Dec 2021 so should have got a $50 voucher within 3 months of earning PC but didnt.

Im not chasing PC+.

Hi all, please excuse if this has been asked and answered but I really don't understand the acronyms and codes as well as some of you obviously very frequent flyers.

I just rolled over to Points Club Plus, yay. So I get 13 months membership.

My question is related to 'Qantas Marketed Flights' and getting status credits on a reward booking.

About a month ago I booked a one way Business Class flight on Emirates EK421, Perth to Dubai. I booked it through the Qantas website. Does this count as a "Qantas Marketed Flight"?

Second part of the question: I booked it before I was a Points Club Plus member. The blurb about PCP seems to imply that the points on rewards bookings happens if you make a booking as a PCP member. So is it if you BOOK as a PCP member, of if you fly as a PCP member. I guess if this doesn't count as a "Qantas marketed flight" then the question is pointless.

1. If the flight has a QF number in your booking, then it's marketed by Qantas. It might be operated by Qantas, or by another airline. I believe there are only a handfull of award flight that are marketed by Qantas, but operated by another airline. Unfortunatly, your EK421 flight is not marketed by Qantas, so you won't earn the SC.

• You mention Points Club Plus, but I should note you can earn SC on reward flights with just Points Club (non-plus). Plus doesn't really add anything in that sense.
• Your EK421 flight is not Qantas Marketed since it does not have a Qantas flight number. You can't book Emirates flights with Qantas flight numbers (codeshares) as Classic Reward Flights generally speaking.
• You will earn SCs as long as you're a Points Club member on the date you fly. Please see the following from the Points Club T&Cs (emphasis mine)

Points Club and Points Club Plus members will earn Status Credits on Qantas Marketed Classic Flight Rewards if they are a Points Club or Points Club Plus member at the time they fly. Your Qantas Frequent Flyer membership number must be recorded in your booking before your flight departs to receive the Status Credits. See the Classic Flight Reward tables for the Status Credit earn rate for Points Club and Points Club Plus members. Classic Flight Rewards seats are subject to capacity controls, availability is limited, and some flights may not have any Classic Flight Rewards available. Taxes, fees and carrier charges are payable to Qantas (excluding any amounts payable to third parties at the airport) in addition to the points required.

Thank you. Clearly I didn't read the T&C's well enough. I missed that part. OK, off to try to find a way to do that itinerary with a QF numbered flight.

As noted by @ChrisMars, "Marketed by" relates to the flight number on the booking. QF flight number means marketed by Qantas. This is different and unrelated to "sold by" or "booked through". So a EK flight number sold by Qantas or booked through the Qantas web site is not "Marketed by Qantas" for the purpose of earning status credits through Points Club.

Hi, thank you for that. Even though it's bad news I really appreciate the input. So it needs to be a QF flight number. I guess I'd better go see if there's any way I can do that itinerary on a QF number.

The good news is that Qantas allows "flexibility" with award bookings at the moment, so if you can find QF flights to get you to your destination at a timing that suits, you could book the new flights and then cancel the original EK flights for a no-penalty refund of pints and charges paid. Just be aware that the refund process can take a little time to complete, though recently reported experiences with award booking cancellations seems to be reasonably positive.

I would suggest finding new suitable QF flights before cancelling the existing booking. Getting there is probably more important than the SC earning.

@NM. Thank you. Yes, of course you are quite right about getting there, particularly as we are meeting a cruise from there! But I am learning so much this morning. Even if it can't be done, I'm in front. . I've recently retired, so now I have much more flexibility in how and when I fly, but also more to learn in order to maximise opportunities.

Thank you! Well sort of ( about retirement by choice)....I am one of the unfortunate people who thought that a career as an academic in a university would be a good thing in later life. I didn't count on COVID and a government that doesn't value universities. But it all aligned perfectly with when I was planning to pull the plug anyway so I bear no ill will... for me. For my younger colleagues who spent years getting a PhD and now have no work it's another story.
Yep, learning and reading are crucial, and I will be doing more of that. Thank you for your input.

I'm requesting a points upgrade to Business, and if successful, would I get the equivalent status credits for a Business classic reward or Economy reward? Flying to SIN, so wondering if I would get 40SC instead of 18..

Confirming the above response, but you should keep an eye on whether any business classic awards happen to open up.

If they do you can call and request a booking change (NOT upgrade) to a business classic award, which under Fly Flexible can be done with no penalty. Changing class this way will result in the full earn rate and avoid the upgrade lottery.

Your PC qualification period & anniversary is always aligned with your QFF membership anniversary
