Qantas Perth to London Airport Celebration/Press Event

Has anyone heard anything about any new route airport celebrations (Press event/Water cannon/etc) going on at Perth Airport before the PER - LHR route takes off for the first time? Just wondering if it's worth going to the terminal to see that flight take off.

There was a 20 page colour insert in this mornings West written by Geoffrey Thomas and some of his mates, with lots of pics and some additional comments by a couple of CEOs and politicians. Didn't look closely at the stories, but nothing jumped out and said to me this would be worth watching. That said, there's still three days before the big event.

The QF PR machine is working overdrive on this one. Coverage is everywhere.

I'm attending a function upon the return of the first trip.
