Hi All,

I'm trying to figure out how best to check oneworld award availability for burning my QF Points. Searching via the QF website (classic awards) provides limited options and availability. It certinaly won't seem to let me check flights with other partner airlines not involving QF (searching NRT-ORD/LAX with JL, or BKK/HKG/SIN-LHR with BA etc). I have premium access to ExpertFlyer but don't know what particular booking classes can be used for QF points with their partner airlines. For example the following are options for AA awards

First - AAnytime Award (for 3 cabin flights only) (F)
First - MileSAAver Award (for 3 cabin flights only) (Z)
First - Upgrade (for 3 cabin flights only) (A)

Business - AAnytime Award (Including 2-Cabin Domestic First) (J)
Business - MileSAAver Award (Including 2-Cabin Domestic First) (U)
Business - Upgrade (Including 2-Cabin Domestic First) (C)

Coach - AAnytime Award (Y)
Coach - Employee Travel and Confirmed Flight Changes (E)
Coach - MileSAAver Award (T)

Which one of these do QF utilise?

I'm from the Star Alliance world where I can use the ANA website to work out all availability. Is there a way for me to confirm availability prior to calling QF to book?

Cheers all!

Where awards can be booked with a partner it is the partner's award fare bucket's that are used (codeshare aside).

For example with AA flight numbers it is T class for economy awards.

Note that in the uncommon situation of booking an award on a codeshare, it is the marketing carrier's award fare bucket where availability is needed. In the case of a QF flight number on AA metal then X class would be requires.

Thanks Serfty,

Where can I locate a list of oneworld airlines and their appropriate award booking classes. As I mention, Expertflyer lists multiple award buckets for each Airline (ie, with AA there are AAnytime Awards, MilSAAaver awards for Business class).

I can use expertflyer to check the availability but I need to be sure which bucket QF will see as available. I recall when I was using VA Awards a few years ago that they could only access certain types of DL award seats.

I presume the best way to book is confirm availability with Expertflyer (or similar) and then call QF? Online doesn't seem to be possible for most partner awards.

Cheers
