I have a dog and cat
would like to fly them from Townsville to Canberra
(I'm currently in Canberra)
I am gold with Q, red with V
will fly J with either no matter the outcome
will pay J on Q either there or back to retain gold status

with pet travel on V do I get there status and/or points?

what's the approx. cost of pet travel on Q and V now that Q has 'enhanced' their pet freight charges

We had an issue with pet travel in/out of CBR on VA last year. Seems that they "temporarily" weren't offering pet travel from CBR. Not sure if this is still the case, but it may leave you with only one option if it's the case...

VA would award 300 points for the pet ticket

That sounds like a very small amount, especially considering I'm sure the price isn't going to be that low!

if you do it through Jetpets it's 3 pts per $1

We flew with our family dog from BNE-PER, and Virgin did a great job. Our dog and the other dog booked on the flight were well taken care of, and were both very happy at the other end. It didn't cost us much - a couple of hundred including the rental of the cage. Sending them unaccompanied costs *much* more. (and we also found out you can hear the doggies barking in the hold from where we were sitting in the cabin, too!)

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.
