I'm sure most people have been getting the emails, but QF have opened up 50% more award seats for redemption across the domestic network + NZ (LOL pls Jacinda let us in).

With some domestic routes the redemption is actually not that bad.

Fee free cancellation extended as well until end of Jan 2022 if you book by end April 2021.

More Classic Flight Reward seats and greater flexibility

This year, we're making 50% more Classic Flight Reward seats available to popular Australian destinations, including Cairns, Sunshine Coast, Sydney and New Zealand (when flights recommence).

Hmm ... what I think is, I can see there are more flights with classic seats ... but not sure if there are more classic seats in those flights ... Just booked SYD-CBR return in Classic Y ... had to move to a later flight because only one flight had classic seats on the return leg

SYD-CBR classic seats are available for the first 2 or 3 flights in the day. However, on CBR-SYD, only 1 flight with classic seats available and that too, at 8 PM ...

Next to no economy classic awards availability, and very limited business awards availability, ASP <-> DRW over coming months. Find it hard to believe they are all sold out for weeks on end. Any thoughts? Possible link to the planned switch to the QQ E170, even though flights are currently still shown as being operated by B738? And if so, thoughts on availability opening up once the switch happens?

I think those routes are being minimally covered as they have been singled out by the Feds to receive massive tourism subsidy funding as have been hardest hit by pandemic and zero international flights. FNQ too.
