Hey everyone hope every one is having a great day!
my girlfriend and my self are flying back home next week from los angelas and we got a email to offer to upgrade..
looking into it to be considered for the upgrade we would need 80,000 qantas points and pay over $4000
it is cheaper to buy the actual premium economy tickets…
does anyone have any suggestions on how we could possibly make it cheaper or is it not worth it?
i figure someone on this forum has had the offer before and probably got the upgrade to premium economy .
any help will me greatly appreciated ..
thanks ben

Definitely not worth that sort of money to upgrade to premium economy. You get slightly more legroom, but because of the generous recline of the seat in front you are really trapped in your seats if you are at anything but a bulkhead. The food used to be domestic business class standard, but has been reduced over the years. No more champagne.

You could buy yourself extra legroom seats on your current booking for a couple hundred dollars. No one reclining in front of you. The only real difference between an extra legroom seat and premium economy is the seat width these days.

ok thank you for the reply!
has anyone had luck with offering the minimum amount of money and max points for the upgrade? for two of us it will be $990 and 40,000 points… do you think that we would have any chance? t
thanks

hi i just wondering if any one has had a chance of upgrading to premium economy from economy with qantas . we received a email with the offer to use points and money…
the minimum for 2 of us is 40,000 points and $990 .. the indicator is the lowest point. just wanted to see if any one has had some luck in doing this .
thank you

I guess it depends on where your flying to, and from where.
If you’re usually happy in whY , I suppose bidding over the odds for PE isn’t a great idea.
