Hi everyone,

I have booked a flight to USA through American Airlines on Qantas metal. I understand that Qantas Club grants access to lounges on a QF flight number. Does anyone know whether my boarding pass will be printed with a QF number and if I can use this to have access into the lounges? Additionally, will the Qantas Club benefit of luggage also apply on the QF metal legs?

Thank you!

So AA ticketed (001), AA marketed(flight number) QF operated AU to USA

Not quite your situation from google AI (so open to error)
Qantas Club members can access American Airlines (AA) Admirals Club lounges when flying on a Qantas (QF) or American Airlines (AA) coded flight the same day
. This benefit includes one guest and provides access to AA’s network of lounges, particularly when travelling within the U.S. or internationally.

Key Details for Qantas Club Access to AA Lounges:
  • Eligibility: Valid for 1 or 2-year Qantas Club members.
  • Flights: Must be flying on a Qantas (QF) or American Airlines (AA) flight number.
  • Guest Access: One guest is allowed.
  • Location: Access to American Airlines Admirals Club lounges.
Qantas Club members, however, do not have access to AA lounges when flying with other carriers, and "Flexible" Qantas Club memberships may have different restrictions. For specific lounge locations, it is recommended to visit the American Airlines website.
QF web site for QF-AA. A lot of red X under Qantas club columns
Has listed: Benefits included for Qantas codeshare services operated by American Airlines. But not native AA flights.

However as Qantas Club will give access to AA lounges in USA on AA flights expect you will get lounges access in AU.

Is there any reason you didn't book it on the QF code?

There used to be a reciprocal arrangement but in recent years it has been taken off the website and now specifically mentions QF Codeshares. Now it just says the below (and there is nothing on the AA website relating to Qantas Club):

Customers booked on an American Airlines flight number should refer to Amercian Airlines for their lounge eligibility and access policy.

Thanks for your help so far. There was a $700 price difference per passenger when booking on AA vs booking on QF.
I was wondering if the boarding pass is printed with a QF flight number then I should be able to access the lounge I presume however wasn't sure if anybody had previous experience with this.

I’m fairly certain QF and AA still have a reciprocal deal for lounge access so I would be cautiously optimistic you’ll get in.

Entry would be under AA lounge access rules, not QF, which is why QF mentions QF codes. If it’s on AA codes it’s up to AA, and as far as I know, AA still grant lounge access on AA codes to Qantas Club members.

Don’t take this as gospel but I’m somewhat confident.
