So now I am confirmed in J on QF9 I have another question. Should you / can you book time in the spa in advance as in the SYD F Lounge?
At least there should be no one with much higher priority as there is no F cabin on the QF 787s.
No.
Bookings made the day prior are for F pax and apparently CL.

Yes if they have not already contacted you.
There is no other higher priority Unless you are a CLPO, CL, PO, or an unstatused VIP

My understanding is the same as @Kangol : WPs have to wait until they get to the lounge (sometimes at the check in desk) before being able to organise an appointment. No bookings in advance.

I have no experience but have a P1 friend who says he does when booked into J. He even gets his shirt ironed in the QF lounges. Maybe he is a special P1

P1=PO (industry parlance)

I thought that was the rule but wasn't sure if they varied it when there will be no F PAX.
As far as I can see there are no flights leaving tomorrow afternoon with an F cabin.
Neither QF nor OW nor any other partner which would use the F lounge.
So hopefully they will have capacity at the time.

I thought P1 do not get advance bookings? At least that's what has been confirmed here on more than one occasion....

Correct for this P1. Maybe some others get special treatment based on $$$$ spend - fair enough IMO.

I've not tried to email the SST to pre-book the spa, however might be of more use in SYD which tends to get busy in the morning.

You would be disappointed if you were the top QF flyer that year! That's so much time spent in the air.

Arrived at 12:45. Spa was fully booked already. Managed to get in for a facial at 14:00 though so all good.

No-one has mentioned TG F check in where once you are in the private area you are escorted through security and to the F Lounge in a buggy and then onto the gate.

I'm confused. Was there a cancellation? If it was fully booked you wouldn't have got a treatment.

Oh and I love the facial as well. It is my preferred spa treatment.

All I know is I was initially told they were fully booked but I could go on a wait list.
At 14:40 I was paged and told I could have an appointment for 15:00.
I don't know if there was a cancellation or if they released slots they had been holding in case more important PAX came along.

When are the quieter periods for the Melbourne F lounge?

Is the time leading up to the 1pm Singapore flight quiet? (I know there is the morning Tokyo flight and the NZ flights...)

It's been mentioned more than once already.
They also have a buggy to take you from your arrival gate to security if transiting in BKK.
Can't remember if there was a second buggy after clearing transit security to the lounge.

The Qantas MEL T2 (international terminal) First Class check-in is located kerbside at the far end of T2, closest to the T1 (Qantas domestic) terminal:

Be aware that, unless there are other QFi flights departing beforehand, it might not be open until 3 hours (3.5 hours for an A380) before your flight.

Quick question - can QF Platinum used the dedicated Qantas First entrance in MEL (or SYD) ? Or should the pax be on a First class ticket?
