and I do have to give Stephanie points for handling my "but I'm a database designer who has built booking engines in the past, so what's the real reason" discussion, and giving me an answer which made sense on mASA's (didn't say I liked the answer, but that's another story).

Yeah, gotta say - Stephanie (and her colleagues) are very good at answering questions in a straight-forward, honest, no BS manner. The discussion around Perth flights was a perfect example. We mightn't like all the answers, but at least we know we're getting the real reasons without BS. :)

I skipped dinner on Tuesday night too.

I was lucky enough to get invited to Tetsuya's for a whisky launch on Tues night (hence my catching an earlier flight back from the lunch). I thought it was going to be a tasting with a few canapes, turned out to be a 9 course degustation (each with a matched Glenlivet), custom designed and introduced by Tetsuya himself to match the whiskies.

Needless to say I was a little bit full by the end of the night...

Cheers

I have a number of videos that I am looking to put up somewhere, that will help respond to the Q&A's

Thanks QF WP.

If they (QF) are happy for video to be posted, and also to answer questions in such a straightforward manner at the lunch, why cant the answers be published here (and/or why cant Qantas / Red Roo as their "mouthpiece" here answer them directly / in a straightforward manner here)? Also, it would have been nice for someone (anyone) to post a short summary of the discussions had at thelunch for the greater AFF community. Unfortunately I was unavailable on the dates of the two lunches or i'd have certainly "bid" to attend and done so for AFF.

Overall, I think the majority here at AFF would prefer the straightforward, honest answer, than the "spin", the "partial" answer, or the avoidance of answering which seems to happen all too frequently.

If there's a feeling that there is too much debate within threads, perhaps the forum could provide a "locked sticky" for RedRoo to post answers to controversial topics or questions that arise in other threads, so that the "source info" doenst get scattered / lost around the forum. The same should be offered to the VA rep(s) also.

Red Roo has certainly done some (very) useful things for members here (including myself - which I appreciate), but the "QF spin" both here and in general (via media releases etc), does not reflect well on the organisation as a whole and is reflected in the broader community's cynicism towards Qantas in general (which my non-AFF friends express on an all too frequent basis - possibly even more concerning for QF if that's the broader public perception).

$0.02 = mine.
