Dear people.
I been searching around for some answers. But i just can't seem to get my questions answered by Qantas themselves.

So i thought i might ask nice people here who has more understanding then i do with Qantas Lounges worldwide.

So i am going to LA on holidays. I be flying with Qantas on a nice dreamliner. In LA i be there for a few days and then i must return back to the LAX airport. My departure flight isn't until around 1120pm approx on a saturday night)

I am flying back to Australia on Economy only. There are 2 passengers together.

So since i have no idea how busy and crowded the LAX international airport is like since ive never been touched down to USA before. I like to go use a Lounge to get away from the people.. so i can relax.. charge my phone.. eat and relax anywhere seats in the lounge area.

I have a Qantas frequent flyer card which is a bronze.. (nothing special) i have approx 81.000 points.. not much at all since i join in many years ago...

I be on Terminal B at LAX and need a good lounge to relax... there is Qantas and other lounges but it seems that all lounges you cant enter unless you are a business class passenger or special high members or something along the line.....

So i was looking at the Qantas club.... i presume Qantas lounge.. and in there i saw that the ones off fee is like almost 400 dollars and then you have to pay on top of that another 300 dollars for membership ? That is almost like 1,000 dollars for just a 1 year membership Extremely expensive.... And i saw reviews videos all it is just seats and some food around but all that shouldnt be costing a new member that much just to join in surely ?

When i go to other countries... i can enter a lounge just pay around 50 or 80 dollars and just walk in.. shower.. food.. seats.. But never came across for Qantas online saying that it cost around 400 for a fee and then another 300 or 400 dollars for member card. I could be wrong but its expensive only for a once off thing since i dont always travel. But i do need a lounge because LAX is very busy place im sure...

Since my flight departs around 11 something pm i want to arrive at LAX airport around 6 pm LA time. Get things done check in.... take the luggage's away... go thru security or immigration area or what not and then in the terminal B. But been there for many hours can be very frustration and tireing because its not comfortable around.. So its why i want a lounge to enter for that particular night for me and my partner.. This is for 2 people.

So i really need to advice and opinions..

Sorry for my frustrating message as you know i just don't no where to begin with this and it is important for me to organised things before i travel.. As i just like anyone would.. no one likes to be seating doing much nothing next to gates... As one prefer comfortable relax.. hot shower... eat and charge phone at a lounge...

So lets see who can help me out as i ask Qantas but they are not really answering my messages correctly specially the actual cost.... Its confusing because i have a Qantas frequent card a bronze colour with 81.000 points but that is only collecting points and it is not a member card for lounges..

So if Qantas club has to be the one at Terminal B at LAX then how much do i actually have to pay ? And what about my partner as i can not leave the person behind.. However take not it is not as if i travel every year with Qantas. But anyways... like to get a ideas and how the system works.

I dont mind join in for just 1 year as i dont no if i be able to go just to a Qantas lounge if i was to travel else where with other airliners... But depending the actual cost... i be surprise if i have to almost pay 1.000 dollars for the whole thing and also my partner..... It be quite expensive.

Qantas told me you have to join in to be able to enter the lounge.

thanks again people

On Qantas website it says:
Individual membership
Joining fee
A once-off fee applies to join the Qantas Club.
Australia A$399 join fee or pay with 70,000points

Then on top of that u have to pay:
Membership fees
The amounts vary based on your country of residency for tax purposes.
1 year A$540 or pay with 78,000points.

So that calculates in total the fee and the membership like just 1.000 or over dollars.
I saw videos the actual lounge doesn't look super appealing for this Qantas lounge.... But it is still a relaxing place... But please correct me if all this is wrong. Im looking at Qantas website for the price shown.

But then the worse thing is i have to pay a member for my partner too which is just too expensive for all this.

However i have a Qantas frequent flyer card (bronze) with only 81.000 points.
Someone at Qantas told me your partner since she is no Qantas frequent flyer or no members she still has to pay and cant invite her in as guest.

Hello thank you very much
I prefer to remain at Terminal B because getting in is enough frustration with immigration.. check in.. stamp the passport and all that. Big airport but i have to remain at terminal B since i must catch my Qantas flight for Economy for me and my partner. I rather not go to other terminals. Dont want to end up confused and such as it is a long night for us both when we go back to LAX to leave.

Qantas Club Members can invite guests - International Lounge: you may invite one guest to join you. Both you and your guest need to be travelling together further that day on the same flight.

Qantas has generally not offered day passes to its lounges (apart from trials over off-peak times).

If you don't think you will get value out of an annual pass, I'd just put a few $s to one of the nice sit down restaurants at TBIT

Per the previous link, you can walk freely to/from TBIT to the AA T4 lounge without passing through security.

Hello.
I see first of all. I dont no how the layout of the airport is like at LAX just a bit confusing with the layout maps from the lax website.
But i still have to check in and luggages from terminal B correct? since it is where i have to go to for Qantas.. But once i enter Terminal B do you think i can walk to other terminals without going back outside and all this check ins ? You say no passing though security.. But need to be 100 percent sure.. because i still need to stamp my passport... as i can not later go back otherwise i be unable to re-enter terminal B because the passport would be once off stamp in the first place.

Also the Qantas lounge.. I dont really see it really apealing... it looks Ok but doesnt look very confortable.. looks more like a place to eat standard seats around less to charge the phone around.. cant relax your feets on something.

My flight doesnt departs around 1120pm on a saturday. I would go to the airport lax around 6pm... since i can no longer be around doing nothing with all my luggages which is very heavy.
Remember that also going other terminals since im reading a website article by a user who just posted here. (thanks for that) but remember regardless the other lounges they still going to ask for your ticket and such and if they see that you dont belong from this terminal you end up unable to enter that lounge. Thought i point that out. Usually to get in they want to see your boarding pass... (it be Qantas on Terminal B) and if i was to say i be at terminal 4 or 5 they might say to me your in the wrong terminal asp.

I cant not go around with 2 luggage's on me and my partner another 2 more luggages and carry on bag.. and muck around one terminal to another.. I rather sort my entry to the terminal B but then i think i can not enter terminals after check in. but i dont no...

Remember that my flight departure 1120pm and i want to go to the airport by 6pm as i prefer to be sure i dont ever miss my flight.

I think your best best is going to be to arrange a late checkout from your hotel room.

Then once at the airport, check your bags and head to a sit down restaurant for a late dinner prior to boarding.

Hi begail, welcome to AFF.

If you want not to leave terminal B, then your only option will be buy a Qantas Club membership, where you can guest your travelling companion in. As you observe, that will be an expensive exercise and not worth it, unless you intend to use the Qantas clubs in Australia (when travelling Qantas). If you don't, I would pay much less to use some of the restaurants etc in terminal B.

I hear what you are saying about not wanting to leave the terminal - it is a big airport. But access to Terminal 4 where American Airlines is located is easy, and its after security. There is NO departure immigration in the USA - just check-in, then the line for security, and you are air-side. You will probably find yourself at the airport pretty early, with plenty of time to kill, so think of the walk as a way to stretch your legs and fill in some time :) .

There are quite a few tips for arriving and departing the USA, so feel free to come back and ask about those if you like.

Hello thank you so much for that information. I also thank to everyone joining my threat. It's really nice to hear people who can give me ideas and advice.. Much better then calling Qantas themselves.

So please correct me i am not good with all this. I get to LAX airport. I have total 4 luggage's its me and my partner.. I want to check in so i can get the luggage's away from us both on the night. I have to catch the Qantas flight at Terminal B. So i presume i have to check in at Terminal B for the luggage and everything and thru security. So after i go thru all this done and security check... can i still be able freely go terminal to terminal at LAX or once your at Terminal B your actually stuck there unable to go to other terminals.. Otherwise you have to go reverse everything by going thru check ins and security and all that. It does sound confusing so dont want that to happened.. I also dont even no how far it is to walk from one terminal to another terminal for lounges.

The user who gave me a link to a website i have bookmarked it so i can read along. But then i also want to make 100% sure it has official website of that lounge to see it has what it suppose to do.

I of course starting to think tonight that it is no way i will pay 400 plus more dollars just to enter Qantas lounge. It is rather rediclous price and since i dont just travel all the times.. So not worth spending almost 1.000 dollars just for one time visit at a lounge. The lounge doesn't has that appealing for that high price visit.

It be nice to go to other lounges so im getting underway reading that but wondering if the Terminal B has gates to enter other terminals freely or its on other locations. On the maps it shows as if the terminal B is in on its own building and other terminals are like you have to go outside to get into other terminals...

Again i apologies for the much to ask guess i suppose one like you want to correct and make sure there is no issues along the way where and what is best for us.

Lounge would be ok for about lets say a 3 or 4 hour thing for us... then we can walk to our gates at terminal B 1 hour before departure. But might need to know about if terminal B is in the open to other terminals in long walks halls.. Or must go outside to do that to enter other building of the terminal.

Thanks again and i apoligies for asking much.
It is useful here so yeah i be reading what people have to say.

And finally which terminal for the lounge would you recommend ? Just out of curiosity for LAX airport.

Hello. Cant do that.. staying at a rental apartment.. and must leave by midday.. then i must deliver my luggage's to a locker place outside near by the airport... on a taxi... and then after that go back to Hollywood to spend a few hours.. and then back to the lockers to collet the luggage and then drive to airport again on a taxi or Uber.. So it is a lot there to do. And of course i like to go to airport by 6pm so i have many hours for lounge and all. But also comes to.. when can i check in for the luggage's and all.

Thank you.
I just looked again at the lax map graphics shown

The actual getting to terminal 4 and 5 is not actually from terminal B... you have to go thru there before you check in to terminal B..
From the image it shows it is on the side as you enter the building of terminal B but its on the side before you check in and all that.. or do i have to check in first at this terminal B and then once thats done i can enter terminal 4 and 5 freely ? And how about walking back to terminal B with no problem ?

In regards for the during the day depature of the apartment i must leave the luggage to a safe place... So all i know is this:
Home Page

as i was told that one. But that is near by the airport... So someone before told me there is no lockers at lax airport.

But also the trouble about the is there going to be enough room for our luggage's as this website requiers no need to prebook nor reserve.. But that is where the risk could happen as you never know if i end up going there on a Uber or a taxi and discover that the lockers are all full on the day... As i want my luggages safed kept for a few hours as i leave the apartment by midday and then i must leave the luggage's to a lockers... for a few hours as i go back to Hollywood to spend the day before going back to collect the luggage's and then to the terminal.

But you only need consider T4, as there is the American Airlines lounge there with one-off paid access.

By the way is this one called the American flagship lounge at terminal 4 ? If so please correct me. And from there need to find out how much without the need to join in memberships and so on. Qantas one is a rip off to be honest with you for the cost involved.

Or you could check if you have any credit cards that give you Mastercard LoungeKey membership or Priority Pass. You might be able to then access a lounge for a $27 fee.

On a different note, good luck with that trip to airport locker then hollywood and back to airport. I was in LA for 24 hours a few days ago and getting around via Uber/Lyft started adding up cost-wise, I found Hollywood boulevard totally underwhelming (maybe I'm missing something) and the traffic was horrendous - you'll need to allow plenty of time getting back to the airport.

There is no departure immigration in the US. Just check in with Qantas and through TSA. Only time you might see CBP on departure is if they select the Qantas flight for random departure checks, and even then, they only check random people.

All the terminals on the south side of the airport (B, 4-7) are connected airside with passageways or tunnels. The north side (Terminals 1-3) might have airside buses to/from Bradly.

You should be able to use the AA Admirals Club in Terminal 4 with a day pass ($59 per person).

Maybe consider a day-use hotel room at a LAX airport hotel. Many of them do it. Here’s an example.

Gives you a place to store your bags, shower and rest before your flight and you’re only minutes from the terminal.

The Flagship Lounge is more like the QF Singapore, London or Hong Kong lounges. You need business or first tickets or QF Gold or Platinum (or oneworld equivalent) to use it. You'll have access to the other AA lounge with a day pass.

Hmm very interesting. I knew there would ever be such a thing. Glad someone from this forum knew! I will bookmark that and think about it.

But not sure if the lockers are better or a room and leave the luggages there.. But then again we not just going to be stuck in the room doing nothing we want to go back to Hollywood to spend the last few hours before heading back have a shower and leave that room hotel. But this is only a day only or a few hours only.

How do i actually know what the rooms looks like and what is the address of this place ?
I looked up on the website for booking and under there it wants to know the day you come in and the day you leave.. in this case it shows lets say for a example this saturday i come in but departure on a sunday from this hotel.. Dont want that to happen as i only require just a few hours of a day and thats it. (NOTE: i would then... go to the lounge once enter the airport.. Or i dont no) but i do want to go to the airport from around that 6pm time frame just dont want to be stuck around and traffic and all that stuff..

I personally wouldnt even no how bad the traffic is like lets say coming to USA LAX by Qantas australia... as i have to book a car driver to take us to the apartment in hollywood.. this is the coming to LA. So since i be arriving around 430pm on a saturday not sure what the traffic is like getting out of the airport to head to hollywood. Maybe someone or you know more then me.

Thr traveloge.. since you say u can pay a day only... Does this mean i have to go to one that is near the airport or around hollywood? Considering i have a rent apartment in centre of hollywood and need to leave that apartment by midday sometimes maybe by 11am... So do i go to a near by ? Or closer to airport..

Remember we not going to remain in the room allday.. we want to leave the luggages... then go out again spend the few days..

But then return take a shower relax and leave to go to the airport! So should i go one near airport or near hollywood to where i be staying as i have to leave the apartment by midday.

Of course i want to see around hollywood for the last final hours..

The website just shows all over night stays...

Agree with this, and I’m actually starting to think this thread is a wind-up.

Begail, please read the responses before you re-ask the same questions over and over. (In a somewhat “Borat” like manner if I can be candid)

By now you have stated your circumstances several times, we all know about your “luggages” and your desire to be at the airport by 6pm.

I would strongly recommend taking some of the tips you have been offered and typing them into google for more information. Eg type “LAX airport day use room”. Or “LAX airside connector” and so on.

Failing that, you might also consider the use of a travel agent.
