Keeps on growing. QantasLink currently has 11 already in the air

QFLink is turning into quite a beast with the new A320's and all these E190's being added via partially owned Alliance.

Qantas Ups Its E190 Leases To 18 Planes​


Qantas is leasing a further four Embraer E 190 jets from Alliance Airlines. It will take the total number of Alliance Embraers operating Qantas services to 18 and will see Qantas taking its full complement of available options stemming from a February 2021 deal.

In a note to the Australian Stock Exchange (ASX) on Thursday, Alliance Airlines said aircraft 15 would deploy to Qantas on November 1, aircraft 16 on December 1, and aircraft 17 and 18 on January 1, 2023. Qantas maintains a 19.9% stake in Alliance Airlines.

Alliance Airlines has confirmed Qantas has maxed out its full complement of Embraer E190 wet-lease options with the airlines.

The incoming QantasLink A320s are confirmed to be more ex-JQ transfers, as reported by ol' GT on The West Australian.

Assumedly a 1 for 1 transfer as the A320neos/A321LRs progressively get delivered to JQ.

The welcome announcement script by the cabin manager says they are doing exactly that (heard the exact same script on two different flights so definitely not just one making stuff up)

They are also flying on QFA callsigns, which is very unusual - that is only used by Qantas mainline, not even fully owned QantasLink airlines use that. They do have UTY which is the normal Alliance callsign but these aren’t used on the Qantaslink flights.

I assume they’ve applied for a new callsign and are just using this in the Interim
 
Iirc there was some sources reporting that some of the recent E190 acquisitions from Aercap will be used as 'spare part' donors, ie not all of the E190s will enter service for Alliance and/or QantasLink

They’ve already taken all of Copa’s E190s and all of AA’s bar 4. The press release states the additional 30 are coming from AerCap. A large chunk of the JetBlue E190 fleet is leased from AerCap.

Wow, I didn't know AA had got rid of so many so quickly. I only flew on one 12 months ago.
 
QF have ring fenced another 6 for QFLink ops, I think this takes it to 24 (?) From 18 to 24 to be flying soon for the QF / Alliance JV.

Hard to keep track! Keeps going up.
 
So long as they retain the 2x2 J cabin, I will be looking for these services. My experience in a QF-Link E190 BNE-NTL-BNE in J was very impressive. Very comfortable and great QF-Link (Alliance??) crew. Unfortunately the E190s are not currently operating that route any longer. I am hoping to see them on BNE-NTL and BNE-ROK as two QF-Link routes I expect to be traveling into the future.

I thought it was a 2x1 in J on the Embraer.

It's been reported that it's up to 30 Alliance E190 frames overall for QantasLink.

Can't see QFLink bothering to put the ex JBU units if QFLink wages are higher than JQ's.

I suspect most of AB's may be JQ routes if anything if they go well.

MCY-CNS was previously a QQ route on the Fokker and later the E190s under their own brand (ie not QantasLink).
