Seems you have your HKG trips well planned.

The HKG lounge redevelopment (mk 2) is planned to open in March - and as indicated by moa999 they'll be using the upper area for the new single class lounge.

Has the upper level being closed for this renovation as yet?

It's all about the champagne serfty. :p

We are having an AFF meetup on the QM2 then adjourning to Langham place. Well, loves_the_life and I, anyway.

All closed and blocked off, with a notice at what used to be the door directing pax to use the J lounge instead. The entire lounge has been walled up, so nobody can see what's happening inside.

Anyone with a bit of sense would head straight to CX Flounges.....
Well certainly "a bit of Emerald" to go with that "bit of sense" - although the noodle bar in the business lounge is interesting.

But, yeah - I'll be mainly Winging it in January with perhaps a Pier Visit... FWIW I have never been to the QF J lounge Bunker - I might have to have a peep just to see ...

Have not seen inside a HKG QF lounge since I hit WP......coming up to 8 years now.

Worth checking out The Bridge also which is sounding like a J+ lounge from initial reviews

Here now, and it's quite a nice lounge - but no wing. I came here first to get a 'real' BP
and my PP checked/ticked-off.

On entry after all that I was then escorted to an area they are reserving for "First" (I assume WP as well) and offered a beverage.

It will be interesting to see if the retain a "First" area when all moves back to the mezzanine.

A glass of verve arrived with some canapes.

I was shown to a table with a water bottle and a newspaper.

QF haven't met a lounge opening deadline in the past, so I won't hold my breath for this one.

And it will take something impressive to get this little brown duck F/WP out of the superior CX offering...

Considering it is CX's home port, you would expect them to offer the superior lounges...

Sure, but considering QF offer F to this destination, they certainly don't have an F level lounge offering. They should just give up and send F pax to the CX lounge!

They have what, 14 F seats a day? I can see why there's not a bigger investment for an F lounge.

I'm with you on that one. Where possible I try to use HKG as a transit point due to the CX lounge. Plus a quick trip down-town for some dumplings doesn't hurt either.
I would imagine any OWE/WPs would be using the CX Flounge (and there billing back to QF)

I'm flying J on CX on a JASA and a QP member but only Silver on 3rd April. I'm thinking I can use CX lounge but hoping to at least check out a new QP

Yep. CX was the best option with regards to points required and the only direct flight. 65,000 points plus $100 ish to fly J on the lovely CX J class.

Soooo, lounge?

You are right about the CX J product though.... Bloody brilliant!
