They have what, 14 F seats a day? I can see why there's not a bigger investment for an F lounge.

They won't have any F seats if they shove F pax in a glorified J lounge as planned, as nobody will buy them. The only reason I use them is for FASA.

Worth checking out The Bridge also which is sounding like a J+ lounge from initial reviews

I transited through HK on 8 January. I'm Gold and used the Bridge and then moved over to the QF lounge closer to the flight (it is opposite the gate the flight was leaving from). Have to say the Bridge is way better than the QF lounge in HK. Didn't check out other lounges since had about 3 hours and wanted to relax before the flight.

Yep. CX was the best option with regards to points required and the only direct flight. 65,000 points plus $100 ish to fly J on the lovely CX J class.

As you are travelling business you can use any Oneworld business lounge.

Anyone know the exact date the lounge will open in March? I saw an announcement on Friday that said March is the opening but want to know which date. I'm there on the 7th.

Also, does anyone have a sense on how strict they are with guests? I have 2 guests (I'm WP) but understand that I can only guest 1.

the structural framework of the booths and gazebo type designs looks to be done however doesnt appear to have been any interior design as yet (no fixtures/fittings etc) could be a few weeks yet - hopefully open by 14 Mar for my first trip to LOTFAP

Strict, unless you sweet talk them.

Was flying QF and parents both on CX, was able to ask nicely and all were allowed in. CX F lounge said no and turned us away (even though I was in F).

QF F lounge. You will be one guest short but if you ask nicely they may let them in.

How overdue was the SIN lounge from the publicised opening date - IIRC is was a couple of weeks maybe more ?

Might be Easter before this one opens.....no real harm as the CX lounges are excellent.

I think my first visit to the new HKG lounge will be in May - and rather embarrassingly, on a $66 AUD-eqv 3K fare.

I asked today about the opening date and the best I could wring out of the lounge lady was late March (28/29) / early April.
She didn't seem too confident either way.
Having performed my AFF duty, I then hot-footed it to The Wing.

Well if it's open in early April my visit will be on a $132 Classic J award on CX.

Have to wonder why qantas needs to have a lounge presence here. Cathay lounges are more than adequate.
Isn't that a benefit of being in a alliance?

But I guess it is nice to have a lounge right next to the gates used.
