This is great! Thanks for the tip, Mal. I had an upcoming reservation in Hilton Tokyo next week, so I rang HH to include the double points offer :D

This offer was not available when I tried to do it online, but available thru HH reservation centre

Thanks Mal! Never know when this promotion migth get a workout from me.

As for the competition, well, I guess I don't really expect to win, but hey, worth entering anyway.!

One thing I notice is tha BKK prize includes -
  • Two Qantas adult return business airfares departing from Sydney or Melbourne to Bangkok.
Nowhere in the promotion's documentation does it say "Business Class". (Although Business Class is mentioned in the promo page.)

So if you have to go ex MEL it will probably be via
star.gif
Class.

That would take a bit of the gloss off winning from MEL; even though one would not knock it back, a "Sweaty" Leather covered Millenium seat is no match for a "SkyBed" for sleeping. (Although the service will probably be more enthusiastic than Qantas Mainline.)

Interesting - I have a LOT of stays coming up at Hiltons in the next month or so:

8-10 Jul Hilton London
10-13 Jul Hilton Paris
13-25 Jul Hilton London
26-29 Jul Doubletree NYC

These were booked in a combination of TA's and direct with the hotel - any deas if I can apply for ths? I have never used a Hilton promotion code before :(

Any help would be great - this would literally catapult me to Diamond if it was double base points :D

Sorry - lazy eyes glazing over at he thought of getting double base points...

Just wish the promotion was running into September when I will be at the Conrad in HKG ...

Double base is merely marketing; only the original base point count toward Elite Qualification.

Does anyone know if the advance purchase rate qualifies for this promotion?

On another note why bother coming up with these offers if they are only going to be available to a few people, if that? I have tried to use the code to book 1 night at the end of July in the Millenium Hilton Bangkok and there is no availability for the promotion code I have entered.

I'm not sure it's loaded properly with the Internet.

I would try booking over the 'phone; or at least enquiring about the rate.

The Frequent Flyer Concierge team takes the hard work out of finding reward seat availability. Using their expert knowledge and specialised tools, they'll help you book a great trip that maximises the value for your points.

The rates are avaiable on the Internet, but is best to go through the landing page: Hilton HHonors | HHonors Landing Page. Although if you put it in the plan code they still appear (for me anyway), notwithstanding the big red message that says there were none.

They look the same as the flexible rates.

Hmmm.... Should have know there was a landing page!

After a few attempts I now get the Qantas Winter Offer to appear as a rate for the Millenium Hilton Bangkok. Yes the qualifying rate looks the same as the flexible rate.

 nice one - geez it pays checking this site before booking travel/accom!!!

5 days coming up in Tokyo Hilton - woot!

just changed my booking to the "Deluxe King with breakfast JPY26,200" deal after realising that the Double Points deal was for a standard twin room without breakfast along with the double hilton points not going towards elite status :(

...must learn to read fine print!!!
