Qantas has worst fuel efficiency TransPac

Looks like the ICCT forgot that all transpacific flights are not the same distance and so you can't compare NRT-LAX to MEL-LAX. The only valid comparison would be with VA (since UA, DL and AA have many transpacific flights to Asia).

And it also ignores config differences.

Cebu Pacific with 436 Y class seats in a 333 would top these charts in a canter

Qantas were always going to be "worst" with their DFW flights included.

Its based on per PAX Kilometer.

Maybe Hainen sardine their cabins more?

A fairer comparison would be to look at like for like.

e.g. SYD/MEL/BNE to/from SFO/LAX.

Also more four engined 744 and A380 which use more fuel compared to single double engined aircraft.

Not sure I'd want to fly TransPac in a single engine aircraft  ... but the 4-holer fuel burn was my first thought over the more fuel-efficient twins - especially the 787s/350s.
