Qantas Green frequent flyer tier

Can someone be able to clarify after receiving their "Activity Unlocked" through Recycle Smart; how long did it actually take for the green leaf to appear under the QF account (under Green status)?
Ages. The website states it should take up to 6 weeks. I didn't get anything after waiting 8 weeks, had to reach out to the QFF Service Centre with screenshots from ReSmart. They had it manually credited within a week of me initially reaching out.

Also reaching out to ReSmart they advised that they send the data through to Qantas weekly, and that Qantas were the ones who set the 6 week timeframe so kind of wiped their hands of it. It almost seems as if the batch file goes to some random inbox at Qantas and someone gets around to processing it if and when they feel like it.

Exactly my experience

I might take the gamble and get my last leaf at the end of the month through "Give back" as there is a promo of sort as one of the mbrs pointed out.

Mrfefe completed 3pickups on 19.11.26.And “activity unlocked” in ReSmart immediately. Green leaf posted on 27.12.26. ( 5 weeks). “Congratulations you have completed 5/5 activities”. No sign of “ choose your reward” yet.

Great thank you so much for this info! Really helpful to all the replies.

I have made my donation to Ozharvest with the 20% discount. How long does the green leaf take to sprout?
Did mine (to Unicef) yesterday. Green leaf popped up today.

Last recycling pickup booked for 8 January so hopefully the fifth leaf and option to choose 50SCs appears shortly afterwards (although the posts immediately above don't instil confidence).

Good to know.

My 3rd pickup was 2 December 2025, so it's been 4 weeks now... will keep waiting for now.

Green tier requalified now;

Ozharvest donation – 2560 pts (thanks @dylarr)
Red Energy – $27.95 (eco plan for one quarter when house was unoccupied for half the period)
Carbon offset – $10.40
Learning – free (thanks Qantas)
Wine – $28.00 (used $50 voucher)

As I got to drink the wine I regard that leaf as basically free (especially as I had a $50 wine voucher) so the total cost was $38.35 + 2560 pts.

The 50 SCs from Green tier together with a a DSC CR booking in February (I am PC) will take me 7 SCs over the 14k barrier making me 'dormie' LTG or as I think of it LOWS.

I don't intend to bother with Green tier or PC again.

Yeah, I'm scratching my head on whether to bother completing GT again. 3 of 5 done. "Give Back" - a gimme to go closer to end of member year. But won't bother with the recycle thing. Which leaves an opportunistic "green" stay sometime before the end of July... Although I might loo at Red Energy more closely!

OT: But why not PC? If it can be done organically, why not? The SC earn on CRs is worth it for us - we earn and burn a LOT of QFF points on flights these days.

Quick question, I’ve just switched to Red Energy from another provider. Am I only eligible for the Green Tick after receiving my first monthly bill with the 100% GreenPower option applied (the additional 3.3c/kWh)?

Also, once the Green Tick is issued, am I able to switch back to the standard (non-GreenPower) option, or is that not possible?

Thanks!

Yes and Yes

I have as much chance of being the first Australian on Mars or winning the Nobel Peace Prize as I do of achieving Lifetime Platinum so going forward status credits are pretty worthless.

I cannot achieve PC organically. The only reason I got there at all was because of the very generous Citi Payall scheme that gave you points for making transfers to yourself your billers. Unfortunately that wonderful scheme is no longer around.

Yeah, I’m not chasing LTP! Just ticked over 1/3rd the way this year….i might get there before the next ice age.

But the extra SCs on CRs helps ticking over annual WP / OWE.

QF Hotels is proving quite lucrative during the 3x Points Promos etc in retaining PC (plus you earn those bonus points as PC).
