I wait for the day when idiots like this get the punishment they deserve. The cost of the diversion to the airline, the disruption to passengers, the safety risk and attacking crew members...........mind you, the fact he got bail is not a good sign.
The cost was $120K, but could have been a lot more if they had to divert to somewhere like Guam, plus the crew hours.
The woman going to Wellington got a decent punishment but I don't think this guy will get what he deserves - he should pay all costs to Qantas, get banned from not only QF Group ailines but others (need to set an example). The AFP might be talking tough that punishments will be harsh but they rarely are.
I wonder if one day they will ban alcohol all together (on board and duty free) because of fools like this.........
