Qantas Flight Changes & Options

G'day,

Recently after booking my flights to Manila; a few days later QF informed me that the return flight which was a direct MNL-BNE was cancelled.

QF has given me the option to return by another flight which transits through SYD; i.e. MNL-SYD-BNE or to cancel with full refund. I cannot cancel as I need to be in MNL for an event.

However, I have another flight out of BNE on the day of the arrival. Because the new suggested flight is later than my initial flight arrival time, it doesn't give me enough time to head home etc.

What are my options with QF apart from the options given by QF as above? Would I able to request to give me another route possible so that I can get home earlier?

Of course you can ask for another flight, no harm in trying.

but QF has met the terms and conditions of their contract here by providing another flight on their services.

Rebook to another QF operated and marketed flight or rebook to another QF marketed flight operated by Emirates if the schedule changed flight is operated by Emirates:

• On the same day; or
• A day either side; or
• To the next available; or
• To connecting QF operated and marketed flights as permitted by the route map; or
• To connecting QF marketed flights operated by Emirates or QF operated and marketed flights as permitted by the route map if the schedule changed flight is operated by Emirates; and
• In the same cabin and same class; or
• In the lowest available class in cabin (except P/U/Z/X) if the same class is not available.

Yes, was not trying to find fault with QF; just wanted to know my options. Will give them a call I think and ask.

No luck after the call, the only available flight is what is on offer. Anything else they will have to work out the route fare difference etc and I have to pay the extra.
