Qantas First Lounge Spa

I ended up collating the departing OW flights from SYDi on a list. I'm on QF291 and looks like my sweet spot is when there's an exodus to the gates at around 10:25 - 10:45. I.e. check-in by 10:00, in the lounge by 10:20 and hoping to get into the spa by 11:20. I value my time at home more than at a lounge, hence the desire to try to optimise the timing.
The lounge most likely wouldn't book a 10 am spa appointment for the passengers on the earlier flights given that it wouldn't be in time for boarding so try to aim for lounge entry by 10 am instead?

Or do what I do and cut the queue. “Do you know who I am? That’s right a World Platinum!” 😂

Supposing I manage to check in and get to the QF Flounge at 10:30 is there any chance of my partner and I snagging a QF spa appointment?
Given how busy the lounge is at that time IMHO chances of one free spa appointment are negligible let alone two, but do report back.

When I was in the Sydney first lounge earlier in the year (July) I was advised that I couldn’t even book a spa as it was only dedicated to first class passengers (and not for plat frequent flyers which I was). Is this still the case? Or was it a temporary thing?

First class PAX can “book” treatments in advance. WP/OWE can ask for available times, if any, on arrival.

Sorry I didn’t make my comment clear. I walked up to the counter, they refused to offer me a spa treatment; stated it was only reserved for first class passengers. Said it was a temporary change at the time, so I am wondering whether it’s still occurring or just a bs response the qantas staff member gave me.

I managed to get a walk-in appointment in early August

Probably had sick leave and not enough spa people to do it. Should've just said it was unavailable, rather the it's a temporary change.

Mid-September I got a 3pm appointment at about 11am and was the last appointment I think.
QF8 was boarding at 3.20pm so I was to to 'run' afterwards. I did, but boarding was delayed 20 mins.
The back and neck massage was Thai style, and very god.

I wonder if I was there the same day? I visited morning of July 2 and was told a therapist was off sick so no walk up appts available. (Definitely not told I wasn't eligible)

Any chance of getting an appt walk-in appt 6-7am? I'm guessing unlikely to peak period?

No because the Spa in SYD isn’t open then. It opens at 0730.

From your experience, what about 0730 onwards? I'm assuming those who pre-booked would be all QF11 pax until QF1 pax start coming.

I was hoping to get in at 7 and see if there was any availability for walk-ins for the rest of the morning once they're open.

That’s a good time to arrive if you have a few hours.
I have been lucky enough to get an appointment every time I have been there this year.
