Qantas First Lounge in Singapore

I don't think there has been any begging though. Just been reports of people asking.

QF constantly offer higher level benefits to lower level pax. On flights they'll often bring J drinks or amenities to status pax in whY. IF they do that on one flight where it's offered, that same pax is going to think it's ok to ask on their next flight.
Please sir, I want some more 🤣

I wouldn't have such an issue with the QF approach if they actually implemented it correctly and consistently.

If you want to have special roped-off dining areas, extra menus and secret decanters of wine for F or P1 pax then actually do a proper job of identifying and welcoming the passengers you've set all that aside for. If your staff can't identify an F boarding pass at the lounge entry and hand that information to the dining attendant standing a few meters to the right then the system is never going to work.
Which always makes me laugh given how process-oriented Singapore works normally...

Make sure the staff know you are in First. Enter using your First Boarding Passes - often someone will then escort you through to the reserved area further along towards the kitchen. If that does not happen, walk through and keep walking until someone approaches. Show your First Boarding passes again, telling them you are in First on your flight.

Once they know you are First PAX and are seated, they should offer special menus and wine lists. Don't be afraid to ask as indicated earlier.
Thanks @serfty Good to know. Certainly did not get recignised on my last trip. Was a bit oblivious too. Oh well next trip will certainly be more aware.

Personally, I find that to be a little bit of a DYKWIA mentality*. If I have status and I’m flying in Y, it’s a lovely gesture - but far from expected - if I’m offered something from the J cabin. The way I see it, status doesn’t entitle me to J cabin food/drink/amenities if I’m in Y+ or below, but I’ll graciously accept it if it’s offered proactively by the crew.

* I’m talking generally here, rather than specifically about you @Daver6

I think your misinterpretation of lower level doesn't follow the topic.
This has been about F/CL/P1 vs the opposite.
It's also about one bottle available per night, for over 28 people.

If you're talking about domestic Y, J drinks are only offered to high level pax (P1/CL), only when the CSM asks first, ie. "if there's anything I can get you", albeit inconsistently. They don't offer that to low level WP, SG or PS sitting in row 4.

One bottle per night is ridiculously poor planning/budgeting.

Limits like this are more understandable in the air where space and weight come at a premium, and there are fewer passengers.

But in a lounge on the ground it's no excuse. The SIN F lounge would (should?) see at least ~30 QF F pax a night, plus maybe 10-20 P1/CL and their guests flying in other cabins.

If you've got a single bottle of wine stocked for 50 people, you're doing something wrong.
