Yes, AFR is reporting that "Qantas will free up more "redemption seats" on its most in-demand international routes – including to London, New York and Singapore – during popular travel periods for frequent flyers to book using points."
Quotes a Qantas source too.

The AFR has an article up all but confirming there will be dynamic pricing.

Classic awards will be available on popular routes during peak periods. Can only mean one thing. At a massive cost.

Qantas will free up more "redemption seats" on its most in-demand international routes – including to London, New York and Singapore – during popular travel periods for frequent flyers to book using points.

In the biggest shake-up in the 32-year history of its loyalty program, Qantas has promised to address the most pressing "pain points" experienced by its 12.6 million frequent flyers – most notably, now difficult it can be to use points to secure seats on the dates they want to fly, such as during school holidays.

In a win for its 12.6 million loyalty card holders, Qantas has promised to make it easier to book a seat using points redemption on popular international routes such as Australia to London or New York. Supplied

"We will be significantly boosting the availability of seats for frequent flyers to book, particularly on international flights: that's the No. 1 thing our members want," a Qantas source told The Australian Financial Review on Wednesday. "They save their points and look forward to taking their dream holiday to Europe or the United States or wherever – only to find it can be hard to get a seat on points.

"So there will be a big increase in availability of seats on those popular routes."

Omg, I can’t keep up with how fast this thread is growing. Maybe it’s a ploy by QFF, put this out then see how people react and get ideas for future, cheaper than engaging the consultants to do surveys! :)

Seems like it's not all negatives.
SYD-MEL J class is now from 12800pts, usually 16000pts
SYD-PER J class is now from 28800pts, usually 36000pts

Internationally:
SYD-SIN in J is now from 60000pts up to 81500pts, usually 60000pts
SYD-HKG in J is now from 60000pts up to 84000pts, usually 60000pts

I'm seeing 307k return in J to LHR on the map...

Ouch. So having thought I had more than enough points for x trips I have less than enough points for x trips.

What about earn rates on revenue fares? Are they affected?

BA points increase on SIN to SYD 65000 to 79000. Weird though searched a different date and normal price

Earn rate will be enhanced, as well?

This is what I've got showing on mine... co-pay still loks about the same for LHR.171210

And a quick search using the "where can I go?" in J definitely shows dynamic pricing.

Seeing 192000 QFFP for one way SYD-SIN in F in April 2020. More seats is definitely a great thing, but time will tell how the availability of "classic" flight rewards will be affected.

Same copay but more points for J and F equivalent to worst case outcome for me.
Don’t a lot of people complain that they have a huge points balance but the problem is finding flights to use them on? I’ve heard of people saying that they would use more points if only they could find the availability. This would be Qantas’s answer to this.

Well put. It needed to be said.

Doesn't look too bad at this point but time will tell.. Here's praying that there are no changes to LTG.
