I have a February 28 anniversary and have already earned more than enough SC to renew next year. So its great news that these SC will roll over to the following year. Thank you Qantas. Now for the official email to arrive!

I'm in the same boat. March anniversary and already requalified for next year, but I will be happy for some of the status credits to be rolled over to next year.

My year ends at the end of November, so previously been on the generous end with the status extensions. Now it's the opposite. The biggest impact for me is I was expecting to have the maximum 500 SC roll over to 2022. I've already had to cancel one holiday/status run and I can see my second one being cancelled too (both due to border restrictions).

At this rate I don't see international flying coming back any time soon. With minimal roll over points likely, I don't think it's very likely I'd be able to maintain WP in 2022 unless there is a further status extension.

I have two QP passes for next year I can give you. 😂

  • have made a new booking to travel on at least one eligible flight. The booking creation date must be between 23 November 2020 and before the member’s current status end date of between 31 March and 31 December 2021. The flight must be booked to travel before 30 June 2022. " Does this mean we wait until 23 November 2020 before booking to access this offer ?

Yes - similar boat here. Expiry is this month, but flew against the earlier promo in Feb 2021, so already qualified through Aug 2022 after this month ends. Do we think this is a possibility for an additional extension for those on that promo, or no?

Edit to add: maybe I should just make a booking for the heck of it. All very flexible these days in any event.
With the greater detail later released, I've determined based on my Aug 2021 expiry, and already being eligible for a 12 month extension under the previous promo, there is no benefit to booking another flight (until I actually want to / can fly!)

23 November 2020 has come and gone.....Are you reading the right section for your anniversary date?

I haven't been keeping a close eye on the extensions over the past year or so, and also haven't read all of the posts above, but the onine version of The Oz this morning stated that the extension was until at least June 2023, with the proviso that members book one elgible flight before their current membership year ends. Assume the offers are one and the same?

Ha ha .. I didn't but now you mention it:

View attachment 255216
It states "up to a cap of at least 40% of the Status Credits required to retain your tier". WP requires 1200 SC to retain, 40% being 480, so QFF is giving at least 40%. They are, in fact, giving a bit more than that. (I haven't looked at other tiers.)

Previously WP received 600 bonus SC to boost renewal. This is very similar but with fewer SC given and needing to book a flight to renew to 2023.

You don't state when your anniversary is. This older offer renewed status. However it won't roll over Status Credits like today's offer. My interpretation is that today's new offer would trump the old offer if you are have an August to December anniversary. In that case and if you haven't already taken your flight, you could cancel and rebook. If you have already taken the flight, you will need to book another flight in order to roll over SCs (same deal as if you have already requalified yourself).

Now I'm confused. They will rollover eligable SCs "a CAP (maximum) of at LEAST (minimum) of 40% ...". So, for Plat, at most they will give a minimum of 480 SCs. Which equals 500, apparently.

"At least 40%" (480 SC), but they are actually rolling over 500 SC. So that is more. 500 SC is the maximum. "At least" means a minimum of 480 SC, maybe more than that but certainly not less. 500 SC is more than the "at least" number, and is the capped amount. QFF must like rounding up numbers!

If you have only earned 460 SC by your anniversary, QFF guarantee to rollover a minimum of 184 SC. But they might actually rollover 200!

Sorry, not arguing with you, only the 'logic' of what's been written. :)

If a Plat had 100 eligible SCs, Qantas would roll over all 100, as its less than the maximum.

If a Plat had 600 eligible SCs, Qantas would roll over 480, as that's the capped amount of 40% of the total to retain that tier.

If Plat had 1000 eligible SCs, Qantas would still roll over 480, as that's the capped amount of 40% etc.

I don't see how 500 can come into it, unless its an error. If that's the true maximum, then the wording should be "For Plats, we'll roll over 40% of eligable SCs you've earned, up to a maximum of 500SCs". But we'll see; QF has been pretty generous, so not complaining about them - only their copywriter.

I copied and pasted this from the link that Mattg posted at the beginning of the thread, didnt notice the date, just the month. I also rang Qantas and the person who answered the phone wasnt even aware of the update, so now I am completely confused.;)
