Qantas extends priority boarding to SG frequent flyers

When was domestic priority boarding a gold benefit? Certainly not in the last 5 to 6 years. It is certainly a dilution of platinum benefits.

Perhaps not an SG benefit, but International PB was a OWS benefit (thus, Gold). Not extending it to domestic when they made a start at domestic PB just shows they poorly implemented the OW benefits ;)

It light of Sam's comment. I'll clarify that I believe there will be 4 status levels, rather than the current five. Excluding chairmans lounge. No prediction on qualification requirements or names of levels. So there may be a level called platinum but not as we currently know it. As John mentioned merged gold/platinum.

To clarify from a POV that I think we can all see benefits from, where do you think the various qualification criteria will be for OWR, OWS and OWE? And if there's 4 levels, are we to assume you mean two Emerald levels like there are currently, or are you claiming two Sapphire levels? :p

Domestic PB was a published platinum benefit long before they started to actually do it. As such I cannot agree with your assumption that starting PB had anything to do with implementing Oneworld benefits. It was IMO about actually doing qantas published benefits.

Platinum, Gold, Silver and bronze are four different categories. At the moment there are 5 categories including 2 emerald.

Qualification? I don't know. Random guess - new gold around 1000/800. New platinum down a bit from platinum one. Silver the same.

As an aside. I forgot the platinum benefits of getting partner membership at 2400 SC. Because that's a benefit only listed for platinum.

It won't stop the gate lice. :p I can say that because I already have my trips worked out to guarantee maintaining WP through to mid 2017. ;)

Edit: As long as there are no surprise status enhancements for maintaining WP.

It might now be like the security lane, I'll size up which is shorter and just join that one.

More like a can can.

Go on, you would have pranced down that line regardless of signage.
Now that's telling tales about the two dames on QM2 (interested parties may remember Puska's very detailed TR where she made a reference to moi as being a tad tiddly and attempting the can can at the disco, an occurrence I categorically refute - well the tiddly bit anyway!). Let me consider what tales I can tell about toi :D

No guessing which way will access to domestic business lounges will go if this dilution of Platinum benefits keep going!!

Once that happens good bye flying Qantas regularly, hello Virgin

I can put up with gold in the priority lanes..and the other devolution of benefits, but not the amalgamation of gold/platinum....1300 points deserves emerald status on One World.
Oh and also the business lounge, would not like to see that go!

I took myself to the Sydney qantas club tonight to prepare. It's not that bad.

The Melbourne one is :(

I actually received a very very warm welcome from the manager type* at the door when they offered the business lounge and I replied that I was looking for a change of scenery. They seemed to be pleasantly surprised that I'd go to the Qantas club as an alternative. In other news they've installed a massive set of beer taps in the Qantas lounge, 6 or 8 taps. Looks interesting.

*(Wasn't the usual door person, couldn't quite read the name badge but it said supervisor or something)

I can live with priority boarding extended to SG, will just keep boarding late as I usually do. There is always room for luggage around row 4.
I just hope access to Dom J lounges will remain WP and above benefit as they are already overcrowded at peak hours.

Was on a BA intra-europa flight the other day. By the time they invited Club Europe, Gold, Silver & Bronze members to priority board there would have been lucky to have been 20% of the people of the gate left.
