I believe AJ is just taking a page out of the playbook of FR CEO Michael O'Leary.

AJ knows the Australian media will publish anything he comes up with verbatim and QF gets millions in free advertising as a result.

It would be interesting to know the actual value of the free advertising QF has received with the launch of PER-LHR. If they canned the route tomorrow, QF have probably made a profit overall.

Even if they have no real plans on launching PER-CDG etc, it would be smart for them to mention it every month or so....
