The Qantas Newbie Questions Thread

This problem seems to have been fixed, but another stranger one seems to have replaced it: it appears that blocked seats are mistakenly being shown as occupied, For example on upcoming flights (before T-80) I can see on 330/738 a/c all of row 1 is supposedly occupied, when in fact they are normally blocked for CL/P1. I have notified them about this.
This may be more complex than it appeared: I have noticed that some seat maps showing the phony "occupied" seats also show other seats as "blocked", Could it be that the problem is the data coming from QF?

I have a niche question which I haven't seen posted before.

Qantas recently cancelled lounge access for international Jetstar flights. If you have Qantas Club membership, you can still access the lounge. I have Points Club Plus which entitles me to free Qantas Club membership, however it is redundant due to my WP status so I don't get it.

However, if I take a Jetstar flight, am I able to access the lounge? I'm not allowed to as a WP, but I should be allowed to if I had a Qantas Club membership, which I'm entitled to.

I expect the answer will be that I'm not allowed to access the lounge, but I really should be.

No. Qantas club members can no longer acces the lounge on international flights.

This mirrors the restriction for platinum and gold status members.

Domestic is still ok.

Aha, thank you - I agree that it should be consistent the way that you've described it

This problem is persisting but I am having great difficulty getting them to understand that there is something wrong here. Does not inspire confidence in their processes!

I have a return flight itinerary SYD-ADL but I want to split them (and pay the $121 change fee) because I want to do SYD-ADL and ADL-MEL instead rather than flying SYD-ADL-SYD-MEL as I'm worried I might be late for my Melbourne event. Is this something I can do online, or do I need to call up?

Very most likely, and you will need to be lucky to get one of their CSO, who can do it.
Phone up, also, with the lowest of the low status, you might have to do HUACA, if you get one of the overseas (most likely) call centers.
Good luck tho.
Will be hard.

Thanks! I don't mind if they just split the itinerary for me and I do the rest of the work myself to change the second flight. I'll try give it a crack later next month

Hi everyone,
I’m not sure if I’m in correct thread but here goes.
Does anyone know when double sc are offered on Qantas? I’m hoping to retain Gold but my next trip departs in current member year, June 30th 2027. Return trip will be late July therefore in my next member year.
I’m looking at per to London return business. Not sure if to go direct or via Singapore. I believe the Singapore route yields more sc?

The dates of DSC offers aren’t published, but happen about twice a year.

You have to book and pay during the DSC period, and usually fares are higher! So you have to do a trade off.

Non-stop and direct flights earn the same SCs, going via Singapore on the same flight number wont change that.

You will get more SCs if you change flight number in Singapore (or maybe even Perth?) then the SCs are calculated by segment.

Perfect thank you.
The flights via Per to Sin and then Sun to LHR/LGW are two separate flight numbers.
I will wait for the double sc offer to book.
Thanks again Mel_Traveller

Ahhhh I wasn’t sure if it was LGW or LHR.
Meanwhile, I’ll wait patiently for the double sc offer to book. No rush atm.
Do airlines offer status matches these days?
