Qantas Epiqure wine fair 2017

Just bought my tickets for the Sydney edition of the Epiqure wine fair- anyone else thinking about going? We've been to several ones over the past few years and it has always been a great event, well worth the ticket if you like to booze all afternoon Looks like this year's Sydney fair will be at Qantas' headquarters on Bourke Road which is conveniently a short Uber ride away from our place- definitely perfect if you've drunk a 'fair bit' of wine

I noticed this too... I've enjoyed the wine fairs at Carriageworks, meeting the winemakers and the Masterclasses with food matching. It will be interesting to see how it goes at the QF corporate campus, but hopefully as enjoyable a time!
Maybe could be a practice run for the 2018 FT AGM?
I will aim to come down from BNE for the day, and would be great to meet others from AFF. (It's on September 9th)

Yea, they've all been pretty good days from memory. Have signed up to the Champagne masterclass as well which sounds like an excellent start for the afternoon!

I highly doubt it. I've been on countless wine tours with the missus who loves wine. After sampling 150+ wines I've found 1 where I purchased a bottle that I would drink. Half way through it I couldn't drink anymore haha.

But i live in hope lol

A quick update following yesterday's Sydney Epiqure wine fair.

It was very interesting to get to visit the Qantas headquarters "campus" on Bourke Road at Mascot.
The wine fair was in the large atrium area in the centre of the campus, and began at 1pm. Qantas Epiqure head Lisa Hudson offered the welcome, and remembered me from a previous Wine Fair at Carriageworks, which was nice.
There was excellent and abundant catering, and the Masterclasses were enjoyably led by Master of Wine Andrea Pritzker.
The winemakers were very interesting to chat to, and a highlight was Four Pillars Gin, with tastings turning into coughtails as the afternoon progressed. Qantas put on the Swans vs Essendon game on the big screen in the Atrium, and the function ended at 6pm.
A great novelty to have an event with a RR RB211 engine as a backdrop!
There were 10% discount codes for food and wine provided for attendees, and a souvenir tasting glass (Plumm rather that Riedel as previous years)
I hope those attending the coming events in BNE, MEL and PER have such a good time.

Agree, the event on Saturday was very nice. Being at the Qantas offices made it extra special to us and the very airy space really added to the experience. We also noticed that the food offerings got better over the years which is very helpful if you keep drinking wine all afternoon.

All in all, I would highly recommend and well worth the ticket price if you're in one of the cities still coming up and wondering whether you should go. We'll definitely be back next year!
