So at least on MEL-DXB it seems they are releasing seats almost daily now, about 180 days in advance.

If the seat release does become daily at T-180 at least that gives us hope and something to work with.

Did you try 2 seats, or are you saying 1 is all there is?

I just check for 1 in F and 1 in J

But looks like 2 in J

Last week I had a stroke of luck and snared 2 J seats PER-xHKG-xDXB-NBO on exactly the dates I wanted in late July 2026. I had very little leeway as I needed to be in NBO by 25 July to begin about fives weeks of safariing around E Africa.

The web booking errored out at payment, so I had to call.

The first sector is on CX, the latter sectors on EK.

A night and full day in Hong Kong and two nights and a full day in Dubai on the way will be nice as PJM has not been to either before.

Earlier this year I had been hopeful of getting 2 EK F seats to NBO xDXB by positioning to SYD or MEL because, as we all know, availability was good back then, especially on the morning flights.

All's well that ends well.

I’ve been OS and not checking of late but do they load at the same time of day as QF usually loads new stuff ie midnight GMT?

Had flights booked for the Abu Dhabi GP this year PER>HKG with Cathay PE and then HKG>DXB in Emirates 777 First, really wanted to do the race double header with Doha a week earlier and had alert set for Australia direct to DXB. One First from Melbourne popped up yesterday, rushed without really thinking, called and got booking changed... Got off the phone and went to select seat and there is only 6 seats in First, knew straight away what that meant it's in the game changer 777 cabin.

Can't wipe smile off my face

I’ve been OS and not checking of late but do they load at the same time of day as QF usually loads new stuff ie midnight GMT?

Haven't checked that often I thought it was 4/6pm Sydney time for EK when I was checking prior to these "enhancements"

I also forgot to note that prior to these changes - You used to get these seats on EK407 the night flight, but now it's EK409 the early morning flight

Other legs are there, even further out than T+180 but it's very very much enhanced
Dubai to Male is not there at all which is a shame

Again, nearly 3 months passed and the future of using QF points on EK is pretty much done.

Current offers of 150k for health insurance, and 50k for car insurance and 50k for home insurance would normally have me excited. But this time not even bothering.

QF points are worthless to me now

I noticed several days ex MEL next year with 2x F but zero J…. If one is going to pay the excessive EK fuel fines, may as well go F….

Nothing ex SYD to DXB post mid Mar 2026 still (nor other Oz ports by the looks).

Have both seat.aero and gyoza flights...

Seem to prefer Gyoza but both have pros and cons
