Qantas Economy Plus Discussion

This was in the June update from Qantas saying A330 economy plus was active on A330s. They specifically mention free seat selection for WPs excludes Qantas Economy Plus - FrontIMG_1108.jpeg

Ok thanks for this. The flight I'm on doesn't have Economy Plus installed as yet (based on the seat map) but they are still charging for the front row as if it was installed.

They've always looked at the front row as "slightly more leg room" although personally i disagree with that from my own experience. It had more knee room, but less stretch room.

I'm travelling this weekend SYD to BKK in Y and the seat selection has now fully opened up. The front row (A330 row 24) is showing as $110 per passenger to select (myself and my travelling companion are both WP), all other rows are $0. I phoned Qantas and they said this charge was introduced on 1 July this year and communicated with frequent flyers via email. I can't seem to locate any such notification, has anyone seen this?
Hey darloflyer - like you i'm flying in Y from MEL to SIN this Saturday, seat selection has opened up and it is charging me either $90AUD for row/seat 24 AB - JK on the A330 or $120 for row/seat 24 D-G. What's strange is in the fee structure next to the seat selection panel its still saying front row extra leg room 24 D-G as $0, its only when you get to the final screen it introduces a fee ? I've been on the phone to the Plat support team and they don't appear to be able to help, this is really confusing, and even with an announcement in June (which i didn't get) really misleading. Is anyone else finding a solution to this ?

Agree. I dont see the attraction of bulkhead rows at all.

No under seat storage, less overhead storage, and more likely to get moved for operational reasons. (eg: baby requiring bassinet).

And of course the joy of random people cutting across your feet to get to the other aisle!

So am I correct that Economy Plus on the A330, where installed, is indeed free for WPs, it's just the front row that's only free for P1s (same as previously)?

I know this is OT for this thread, but how regular are these updates? I don't seem to receive them, despite having all marketing options except 3rd party digital marketing switched on in my profile, including 'Program newsletter'.

Correct ... it seems the to be what happens in most cases these days, When first introduced WP were able to get them at no charge as a "Frequent Flyer Offer" but that is generally no longer happening.

It’s on your statement email every month
What statement email?

Every month or so, I get a Qantas email with the subject such as this month's: "Your July Qantas Points balance, special offers and more". Like many emails from Qantas it tell me in the banner how many points/SC I have but that's about it.
