The prices seem exhorbinant to me on such short trips. No wonder they remain vacant.

Was offered row 4 at T-80 for $55 as a WP, then not available at online check-in this morning. Expertflyer shows the seats as blocked, so theoretically not occupied.

Has anyone had luck getting a row 4 seat at the airport under this new regime?

I've had no trouble getting it allocated in the lounge.

I’m in Row 5 with a neighbour free spare. (As is row 4. Across the aisle the lady in 5A Has 2 empty seats seats)

I suppose the WP1s are loving their shadows when there are actually WP1s on board in Y.

Perhaps for some sectors - I mainly fly MEL-SYD and MEL-PER and it’s rare for me to keep a shadow. Had much better luck in row 6 as WP.

Generally find that once in airport control on any lightly full plane that you’ve got a new non-statussed buddy.

I’ve had the same experience as you two weeks back.

Just after check-in only 4D was available. Perhaps some upgrades cleared because around T-8 all 6 seats were available for me.

If you book a late flight and due to weather they flow forward for free but you stick to the original flight sometimes row 4 becomes available.

Sometimes, if you happen to flow forward to a fairly full flight but where row 4 is not yet taken you may be able to select it.
