Qantas Economy Plus Discussion

Once you get the “receipt” for the zero $ seat selection, you ought to be able to change (if you wanted to).
I have received the receipt once this year.

All other times I had that issue and have been unable to make further seat changes.

I recently managed to move to Row 4 quite some time after check-in as a WP, on a triangle route flight. They offered flow forwarding to move to an earlier flight and I guess some in row 4 must have done so. I decided to stick with the flight I had booked and enjoy the extra leg room from moving to row 4.

Correct. For some of us they’re opening at T-80 for free BUT, at T-24 the reverse is happening to pre Y+.Instead, they’re being blocked after OLCI opens.
Thats generally been my experience as well for the narrow bodies as well. It's less of a problem now given the Y+ but it's most likely QF IT trying to do a patchwork solution using their existing infrastructure. Perhaps it's even possible QF isn't aware that it's happening at all for WP that row 4 is often locked out again at T-24 then sporadically available.

Quite probably!

I’m quite happy with Row 5 on B737 now. Row 4 if it’s available is just a bonus.
