Qantas economy meal and service better than business class

I didn't think the Y food to LHR/from DHB was too bad, but if you're hungry enough you'll eat anything. Though, it looked a heck of a lot better than the meal above. I do have a picture of the veggo pasta somewhere...

I have a dog ! I wouldn't give her that mess! Omg ! What were they thinking ?

Your right prison food in (Bali's Kerobokan_Prison)

As luck had it Mrs Lime and self had a full on breakfast in the Q 1st lounge Sydney before departing to HKG recently in Y1 exit, the meal served up was.......

Agree on the description of how it appeared - but did it taste as awful as it looked? And curious as to why Limewood would fly CNS-SYD-HKG on QF rather than just fly CX direct CNS-HKG? Is the SYD F flounge really that good?

Agree with the others who suggested that its high time QF actually have a look and see what their competitors are serving their customers.

For the OP - it certainly sounds like a very bad hair day for QF catering on that MEL-PER J flight....

Just hope they don't look to BA for inspiration! (Bxx_xx_ Awful is what they stand for! )

I find most meals OK but then my standards are not that high.

Reminder to eat before boarding..
Caught out with this before. Problem is I can't say no. Eat in lounge as there is something I like and then eat on board. So end up eating too much and sometimes I have 4-5 flights/day and with lounges in between I need to be careful.

So, I thought I'd burn some points and upgrade to business class on my recent trip from Melbourne to Perth and to say I was dissapointed with the meal given would be an understatement.....

I selected the beef terriyaki as an entree which consisted of 2 small slithers of beef and some watercress. I was looking forward to the warm chicken salad but was dissapointed to receive 3 small scraps of chicken, a small mound of cous cous and 2 olives and a piece of cucumber! There was no dessert other than some cheese which I declined

The drinks service was very slow and you had to get someones attention for a refill of red

Looks like you got a bad serve and lazy crew on that flight.

I was upgraded to J on my recent PER-SYD flight and the meal was great, had Japanese style spicy beef, baked salmon and passion fruit mousse.

The wine service was also great with choices of white, red, desert and muscat (I admit I tried them all) ;)

Thought after this debacle I'd try the salad, bit of lettuce with carrot sprinkled on the top, I mean really did Neil design this rubbish?, can we have a good Aussie salad tomato, beetroot and cucumber please.

So after knocking back the wet mince pork & soggy veggies dish and then the rabbit lettuce we settled on the cheese and crackers, tasted fine.

Nope as it could be offensive to some one lol and besides that would just cost way way too much. Next you will want Dressing FFS :D :D

VA do this for me quite a bit in J if I am too hungover to deal with real food. They just grab some pringles or cheese & crackers from the pay-trolley and put them on a plate for me. That being said I havent had any issues with their J food when I have actually eaten it.

LOL I do exactly the same thing on VA when I'm just not that hungry. The chocolate cookies from the cart are amazing too :D

One mouthful was all it took.

Two reasons to go via SYD, have family there live 15mins from airport, so stayed overnight at the new Rydges Hotel right outside International entry (highly recommended), 2nd reason we tried the Q 1st lounge next morning.

Sometimes use CX - CNS/HKG/CNS but gee they are getting expensive, Q a lot cheaper.

Ooh, thanks, I'll give them a try! (I usually just ask for a coffee cup full of M&Ms)
