Qantas DSC October 2024 Offer - book by 31/10/24 & fly 1/11/24-19/10/25

Flew to NZ on Easter sunday and back to Oz on Anzac day.
All DSC credited with 48 hours.

Put in ORC claim yesterday for my flight out.
Currently have only added the normal additional SC requested, hopefully DSC added shortly.

So my trip to Auckland I currently have 402sc (should be 420sc)

Syd-Akl 32 x 2 = 64sc
ORC Syd-Bne-Akl 18sc
Akl-Bne-Syd-Ool 160 x 2 = 320sc (original routing was Akl-Mel-Ool but schedule change to my Mel-Ool flight)
Don't forget to ask for DSC of the ORC. That 18 should become 36.

I always screenshot the status credits it says how many for each flights on the website in manage bookings .
That way any issues on the day I can always claim .

Interestingly have received DSC on an original routing credit for a QF coded Jetstar Asia flight

By comparison the corresponding flight (non-ORC) going the other way received the standard SC and points as expected.

I’ll treat that as compensation for the amount of emails I’ve had to send to get the ORC approved in the first place.

Apologies if this has been detailed elsewhere upthread or in another thread, haven’t been able to find an answer to this. Booked an open jaw MEL-DFW-IAD, ORD-DFW-MEL qf booking during this DSC promotion, just flown the outbound and QF22 was delayed which led to a misconnect to my QF/AA codeshare flight to IAD, was rebooked on a straight AA flight to finish outbound. QF22 base SC’s posted immediately after flight and the DSC’s a day later (datapoint: even after having had multiple involuntary changes to itinerary due to AA retimings). Only got AA points and SC for the final outbound sector - is there a way I can claim the original points/SC owed from the QF codeshare giving IRROPS and involuntary change to a non-codeshare flight? Thanks in advance !

You need to put in a claim for Original Routing Credit with Qantas - @sudoer is the resident guru on this - if you ask nicely he might even repost his template letter etc. to make it easy for you. As you are probably aware you won't get DSC's though for the DFW-IAD flight as it isn't on QF metal.

I think that @chitown_boy might be just wanting the difference in SC's and points between the QF marketed (on AA metal) as he booked and the AA on AA SC's and points.
Yep!

Thanks, that’s very helpful. Just didn’t know what the precise term was for googling! ‘Original routing credit’ did the trick and the internet giveth! :)

Despite all of the travel I've done over the years I've never needed to know - until the Great Dubai Flood event of just over a year ago left me high and dry in Cairo and foiled my planned CAI-DXB-SIN then DSC's on QF SIN-SYD-MEL-DPO. I didn't complain - had two nice days in Cairo exploring some of the less well visited sights then did CAI-DXB-MEL-DPO and claimed ORC to get the DSC's etc.

I've bookmarked it this time - just in case!
