Hi all - For any of those that recently registered for the QF DSC offer, and have since had a flight, how long roughly has it taken for the DSC to hit your account? (I know the T&Cs say up to 8 weeks but just wondering if anyone has experienced them coming in quickly). Thanks.

Historically the first batch has always taken a few weeks but after that they should credit within a few days after taking the flight.

I'm still waiting for my DSCs from early April. I don't believe anyone has received any yet from this promotion.
On a FB page someone flew two days ago and wanted to know who to call to get his DSC! 😂Patience grasshopper. It always takes a few weeks for the first batch then later ones are credited much faster.

It's nice to know that nobody's DSC has posted, so we're all in the same position...waiting.

I don't think I've ever checked my QFF App so much (daily at present), certainly I didn't check it at all between June 22 and March 23 (when I wasn't flying QF).

Daily?! Teach me your patience. I'm also waiting for a refund that's a few weeks overdue to am refreshing to hopefully see improvements in both the SC and Points tally more frequently than I care to admit.

Perhaps it's because I'm probably older  ;) and too busy to check more than daily (whereas you have multiple reasons). I'm guessing that they aren't going to perform the script during the day, rather it's likely to be done at night, so every morning I'm checking....hoping 🙏

I have flown on 6 sectors across 4 trips using the recent DSC promotion on 30/3, 4/4, 18/4 and 27/4. The base SCs turned up by the time we landed. I have diarised to follow up each after 8 weeks, which was the time on the T&Cs. Mind you the wording was actually “from 8 weeks after travel” so that is in fact open-ended and suggests they won’t come before 8 weeks. However I’m sure that’s not what they meant.

Given that there was no guarantee there’d be a DSC offer in March anyway, I can’t understand why anyone would be relying on the bonus status credits to hit the status threshold. If this was important enough to someone, you’d have a strategy to achieve it that was totally under your own control wouldn’t you?

There will always be people trying to thread the needle. To be fair, you can hedge bets by flying a DSC status run and then pulling the trigger on last minute cheap flight(s) if it doesn't work out in time for requal. Or even just burn some points on a few award flights if you're PC. Whichever method, it may still save someone money should the DSCs land earlier than worst case.

Plus it just sucks to have to wait for things sometimes :)

I think it was a safe bet that there would be a March DSC.

I wasnt relying on it to retain/gain status this FF Year (mine ends 31 July), but i certainly leveraged it for booking for next FF year, the handful of bookings I made during the DSC along with the Points Club SCs i will earn on some legs of my OWA having me on track to less than 180SCs short of retaining WP and 6 months from last booked trip to earn those.

I had a couple of strategies, if it comes to it I’ll deploy the other one around September time

With the T&Cs saying “from 8 weeks” they could theoretically leave it all the way until people’s expiry date to make them sweat 🤣

I'm in the same boat, waiting patiently for the DSC to land in my account, but with my new "year" starting on May 1 I'm just wondering - if I get the DSC after May 1 do they count towards retaining Platinum for next year, or do they instantly vanish into thin air since my flights were in early April?

They are backdated to the day of flying.

If you have already met your earn/retain target for this year, they will 'vanish' and not contribute to anything except your lifetime tally.

If you have not met your target, they will retrospectively contribute towards it.
